It sounds great. It works great. Rehouse it, and you have a great pedal for ~$40.00. To those of you complaining about it dying, I am sure Danelectro or the music store would let you return it for another... Worst comes to worst, you have to resolder a cold joint. But hey, it's a $30.00 pedal. What do you expect?

this pedal is ok for the price. if you have the money buy something better but if you are on a tight budget it is good.

I purchased this thing when I was a freshman in high school, and I felt like it was very cool. Then, after about a year or two, it would make the white noise to make you THINK that it would produce the effect, but when I strummed a chord, I received NO VIBRATO EFFECT! So, don't rely on this piece of equipment, because IT DOES NOT LAST! I suggest you save up your dough for a DOD, BBE, or another kind of high-quality vibrato effect pedal.

Danelectro pedals are certainly one of a kind and this one is no different.

I have not found a pedal quite like the Chicken Salad. It's a great vibrato-phase-leslie sounding thing and does its job well. If you're looking for a unique sound to your solos or a funky, jazzy, phased out bluesy clean effect, you can't go wrong here.

Just remember that Dano pedals do not "copy" other pedals - they are just simply unique. If you approach the pedals in this fashion, I guarantee you will have a much more pleasurable experience.

I was really stoked about this pedal because my friend said it sounded awesome. I went to a local music shop and played on it. It sounded like someone was spitting into the amp while I was playing. This thing is a worthless sputtering piece of junk. Please, I advise you not to waste your money on this thing.
