I got this pedal b/c I wanted a tremolo but didn't want to shell out an awful lot for one. It's perfect for what I use it for! The only complaints I have are that it's made of plastic and it does noticeably affect my signal, but not drastically. I would def. recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap but decent tremolo!

I have been using this pedal for about three years now for gigs/practice/recording. I think its pretty freaking good! My only beef is the plastic control knobs/plastic housing. The danoelectro case is a MUST if you use several of these pedals (like myself). I have broken several control knobs over the years. The sound quaility is good. Pretty adjustable. Get it!

I've had this little guy, tona melt, since the late 90s. I love it. I especially like the "hard" setting. Mine has a switch in the middle, not a knob. It sounds great--it will always have a place on my pedal board, no matter how fancy (read: expensive) the stuff around it gets.

I want to preface this by saying that as many qualms as I had with this pedal, I'm no longer having to deal with them because IT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE.

Anyway, so I got this about two months ago. First off, the picture is deceiving. The center "Hard/Soft" knob is not a knob. It's a switch. Looks like a switch. Acts like a switch. There's no tweeking between hard and soft tremolo. It's either a pre-set amount of hard or a preset amount of soft. That's all you get. So it loses points for versatility.

Secondly, yes, this is a very cheaply made pedal. It's plastic, the knobs fall off, and sometimes the pedal won't engage when you go to press it. The button isn't very ergonomic and and its very easy to push it but not go all the way in.

Third, the sound slightly cuts out when engaged. This could vary depending on your rig, but I'm running a Gibson Melody Maker through a Marshall 50-watt Valvestate and there was some definite drop in volume. Since there's no volume knob, you have to live with it. It's not too much, but it's noticable.

Also these are apparently very prone to breaking, as mine and many others who bought this no longer work properly, if at all. I never moved mine around much. Mostly just sat in my room and one day I go to use it and, nope, nothing. I push it and the signal just drops. So much for that. I cracked it open, tried everything to fix it, but it simply just crapped out. What a piece of crap.

So basically, I can understand some people are under a budget, but don't risk it. Get a Boss TR-2 or a MXR M159.

Decent for Cheap

Bought it used from a former bandmate who had no idea how to operate *anything.* At any rate, it's a decent tremolo unit. I don't care for the "Hard" setting, but the "Soft" setting actually sounds pretty good. It does give a bit of volume boost when engaged. This was annoying at first, but I've gotten used to it over the years. Been using it since 2001 with no problems. It has survived countless rehearsals and 100's of gigs. Sometimes you come out pretty good for a few bucks.
