In addition to astounding new effects, the Chopper will produce stellar versions of traditional effects such as tremolo, auto pan, and Leslie (rotating cabinet) effects, but all with a key difference-the frequency of the effects can be varied with the onboard pedal unit. No additional expression pedal is needed.

The output signal from the Chopper can be mono or stereo, but is infinitely more interesting in stereo. In stereo, the effect can be panned or "chopped" from one channel to another and combined in phase or out of phase in various ways to produce an infinite number of captivating sounds.

True bypass leaves your signal intact.

9V battery (included) or AC adapter operation. Compact 9" x 4" size. Lightweight, high-quality aircraft aluminum casting and rugged construction, only 2.3 lbs. Patented ergonomics.

I have been looking for a great tremolo/chopper effect to replace the one setting I have on my GNX3. I only use it for one song but it has to have variable timing and up until this pedal, I had not found anything close to it. I got turned onto this pedal by a review and I fell in love with it. The only thing I dont like about it is that it doesn't have a sine wave, though it can blend its pulse width (square wave) and triangle wave together, which has a REALLY sweet effect. If you are looking for versatility, get this pedal.

I just got this in the mail yesterday. Simply Amazing! I have it set up going to two THD Flexi-50's (my overdrive/distortion amps). I clean the distortion up to a fine, almost clean tone ( I love THD!) using a volume pedal. I finally use a Vox AC30 with a 2x12 extention cab in between the two THD's and switch between clean and dirty using a Morley A/B/Y pedal. With this combination, I'm able to nail that swooshy, stereo effect that is heard on "Wings for Marie" and "10,000 Days". If this effect is good enough to earn a spot on Adam Jone's (Tool) pedalboard, its good enough for me. Try it out, You won't regret it.

I recently got this and have not yet fully explored all it's potential…. as if I ever could. Lets be clear this is no wah wah, this thing is (as it is name implies) a chopper. More accurately it chops, blends, shakes, stirs, pans, and trems. Like that high end food processor your wife tells you she MUST have, but for sound.

Gear: Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Menace with a SH4-JB bridge pickup. Amp 1: Hughes & Kettner Switchblade 50 Amp 2: Line 6 Spider III 75 watt It is important to point out that this thing really is designed to be run in stereo. In mono the "chop" effects are a fun but not really musical. At least in my opinion. It feels like something is missing. The “stir” mode is pretty cool and usable in mono, but the rest really need stereo. When I first got the Chopper I only had the Hughes & Kettner Switchblade and knew I needed a second amp after the first 15 minutes with the Chopper. I got a cheap new Line 6 Spider III 75watt amp and it made the Chopper 10 times the pedal it was with a single amp. Not that the Line 6 is some great amp, I typically hate solid state amps, but for a second cheap stereo amp this thing works great.

With the two amps volume balanced between the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier setting on the Line 6 and the H&K’s “Ultra” mode then the Chopper fading them back and forth makes my living room literally shake, stir, warps and just blows my mind. Throw a delay, chorus, phaser and a wah infront or behind the Chopper and you can go absolutely crazy. I like a very compressed distortion, small mellow chorus, short quick delay into the a Wah then into the Chopper on an auto setting. Really killer tone with lots of expression, the wah does the pitch shifting and the Chopper kind of bounces left and right. It creates a lot of sound “movement” if that makes sense.

I am into Tool and got this because Adam Jones uses one. I am no Adam Jones, but I got some very similar sounds out of my set up, which was my goal from the beginning.

I love the Chopper and am going to get the Mega Wah as well now.
