Captures the original sound of tape reel flanging! |
The FL-3 offers all the warmth and range of the original tape flanging effects plus an asymmetrical sweep pattern for a more human feel. Sweep speed is slower climbing and faster coming off, giving it a whiplash effect unlike any other flanger. A 3-position resonance switch adjusts intensity of the flanging effect from rich chorus and vibrato to jet-like sweeps.
Order today and add this unique flanger to your bag of tricks.

Well for the money, it was worth it, its small so you can take it anywhere, runs on batteries and has an AC addapter, and its pink! Who doesn't like pink? After messing around with it at my house, I found that the 3 way switch (which i haven't exactly figured out what it does yet) does effect the sound. For the size, I was suprised what it can accomplish, I was really expecting a crappy flange but the sweeps were very decent and had good control. It does sweep when the pedal is on and you're not playing though. The problem I do have with it is that black bar you see surrounding the pedal. That's made of rubber and its the only thing holding the 2 parts of the casing together. I guess having screws would of effected the circut board. It still feels risky to me though. All in all, if you need a little flange in your guitar or bass (bass doesn't work that well through it) then I'd recomend it over it's expensive competitors. But if flange is really important to your sound, pick up a boss or something.

This is the best flanger I've ever used or heard. It can go from barely any effect all the way through a sound which simply sounds like metal scraping against more metal, and all in between. The sound is thick spirally. It sounds great. I have a huge chain of pedals, and get no, none, zero extra noise from this when its not engaged. It does have some hiss when on, but is actually quiet compared to a lot of flangers, Boss in particular. If you are getting some kind of extra swooshing while its not on, then you either have a defective unit, or its coming from something else in your chain. My only complaints are: the switch - loud 'pop' when engaged. Which sucks, really, I'd give all '5's' for this baby otherwise. Its a loud pop. Means I can't turn it on and off during recording. Live its not as noticeable IF you're playing at really high volume, as the pop gets drowned out. But its a problem, and one that Guyatone could have easily avoided in making this pedal. Other complaint is that there are occasional inconsistencies in the signal. Maybe mine is prematurely aging, which I hope not. But when I try to have it on with a really low effect right now, the effect disappears altogether and instead I get some crackling and popping. Then while I dial it slightly higher, after a short delay, it kicks in again. I will have to see about getting this fixed, because I don't want another flanger, and I don't want to have to shell out the $$ for another one of these! But I would if I had to, it just sounds the best.

This flanger is very unique. It has a little stomp switch, but it isn't true bypass, it adds a little noise to the signal, but what doesn't that isn't true bypass? Anyway, the sound of this flanger is different from any other flanger because of the sweep, it may not appeal to most, but it appeals to me because I use it for noise, the "whiplash effect" is very nice for that. I use a Epiphone Valve Jr. for recording with a Crate Speaker cab and a Squier double fat strat. A unique flanger, indeed.

This pedal sounds very organic and lush, you can go from suttle vibato and chorus to jet plane and stun gun in the exreme settings. Also works well with distortion.

i have no idea what the other reviewer used this for but all i can say is this pedal sucks. i also heard the sweep while i wasn't playing anything. i feel sorry for anyone who would buy this pedal even the samples sound bad. i was also annoyed by the knobs that don't seem to do anything. only the switch does anything noticeable. if it sounded good i would love this little pedal, but the flanging is the worst i've ever heard. as a phaser, it would be ok but i would definitely need a noise supressor.
