This is a great sounding flanger but it has a lot of hiss noise. It works fine for clean tones but it's very noisy in front of an overdriven amp.

It has a chorus-like flange but doesn't do deep swooshing flange as well as others. I recommend the gray MXR over this one but the Ibanez is still a good flanger. It's just too noisy.

I needed to replace my existing flanger, as it was 10 years old and the $20.00 variety. I have an original Ibanez stereo chorus and I've had to do a bit of work on it, it STILL delivers. So, I ordered thisMF. I use my effects in my loop, so I tried to get the "Unchained" sound found and it didn't sound like it to me. But, even though it is a bit pricey, you are getting a quality flanger and it does indeed have that 80's flanging quality to it. I found it was very easy to get flanging and by taking some time with the unit, you can get great sounds. If you prefer in-your-face-jet swoosh ala nu-metal, then this may not be for you. But, for my style of neo-classical prog/instrumental rock, this is the ticket and it performs quite outstanding. Thanks Ibanez!

I am fortunate to have come across the original issue of this pedal, and all I can say is, "wow." It may be kind of pricey, but it's definitely worth it. The sound is very up and down (which is what I like) and have a solid tone to it. The pedal doesn't color my sound too much either. I highly recommend this flanger to anyone interested in vintage analog modulating effects.

What a awesome flanger pedal. It is kinda high price, but worth it. (every penny) This flanger pedal is very warm sounding and everything in between. I can get the Police to EVH sound from this this pedal and much more, just a awesome pedal.

I set the regen and speed and 12 O clock, width and dly lvl at max for that warm flowing Police sound. And for that EVH sound Speed 11 O clock, width 9-10 O clock, regen maxed, dly lvl 1-2 O clock, BAM!!! EVH unchained.

I could go on for ever about this pedal, but then they prob won't post it. I been playing for 9 years and used many flanger pedals and none are as smooth as this one A++ in my book thx Ibanez.

One last note there are many famous musicians that use this flanger and half the price as the EVH flanger.

This little Flanger is pretty good. I bought it used for $30 so it doesn't "have" to deliver at $115 or higher, but it does... so I got one great deal. I use it often, with my Maxon OD-820 and Strat... I play a lot of heavy Nu-metal and it's not ideal for constant play but is great thrown in the mix every now and then. It is justifiable at it's cost, and is simple to control. The batter life is better than most, but you really should power this one. I didn't score it 5's because I have had some digital flangers on a Zoom 505 and 505II that were pretty comprable, and at no cost compared to this, but it's boss counterparts are just as good, and similar in price. I'd like to go all boutique or somewhat older effects (because I like the quality and craft put into them). This is a heavy duty highly quality MIJ pedal, and I'm a proud owner!
