The Variax 300 electric is not a guitar everyone will want to own. Some do not like the body styling; others the lack of pickups and still others want a whammy bar. A few have been less than impressed with the build quality. Everyone (that has heard the guitar) is impressed with the quality and multitude of sounds the guitar creates and the capability to use a computer to endlessly modify the sounds. I've had mine for a year without issues. I use it everyday for home recording. I'd advise anyone that likes guitars to get one while it is available because the other Line 6 electric guitars cost a lot more.

I have had no problems with it. It sounds like the guitars it models and has nice action. The only problem that people have with it it when they change strings they pull the twisted part of the string through the bridge and snag the piezo wiring. I highly recomend this guitar for gigging musicians. You dont need to switch guitars for alternate tuned songs...

Perfect for coverband work

This guitar was made for cover band musicians, paired with the xt live I can go from an acoustic verse to a heavy chorus and to alternate tunnings without having to change guitars. I'm not sure how usefull it would be for a recording situation. The sounds are perfect but the guitar itself is pretty solid, It plays like a squire strat and it's not the most attractive thing but for the price it's a steal. You can buy this guitar and then transplant the electronics into another guitar body which is what I'm gonna do as soon as the parts arrive.

Had this guitar for about a week now. It is pretty darn cool. Lets face it this does not play like my PRS and I really do not think it is intended to be of that quality. So if you want one for shedding leads this is not the deal for you. I will say I'm having a blast with it. I think the 12 strings are usable for live use. I'm thinking of getting the 700 and giving this one to a buddy as I was raving to him about the sounds. Quality wise it is OK. The tuners are pretty crappy though but I can still get it in tune. The emulations though are just killer for the most part.

I was a bit worried when i purchased the guitar online that i was buying a piece of junk, but after it arrived and i started to play it, it really became apparent, that this is a good quality product. I Find that the action out of the box is not bad, and the range of sounds VERY believable. I do have the XT Live floorboard, and i find that the system works extremely well together. All in all, a nice experience.
