i got this in the mail the other day and ever since ive been in love. when i first plugged it in it sounded incredible. the pedal itself looks really cool and vintage. some people are mad cause it doesnt have a led or a power supply jack but it doesnt bother me cause i use batteries anyways. the only bad thing about this pedal is when your use heavy overdrive/distortion its less noticable. overall this is a incredible pedal for the money and it was worth every penny. thanks mxr and musicians friend.

I find this effect to be absolutely great when it comes to the sound.

However, I do feel they should have added an input for power supply.

I understand they wanted to recreate the old vintage pedal, with it's extraordinary sound and simple one knob use (which is why I bought it), but they could have the extra option, keeping faithful to this vintage sound. LED is also handy but not the end of the world.

Terrific sound but unlike with studio work, there is inconvenience with live performances when it comes to providing power (batteries just don't do it; what if you have the pedal fixed to a pedal board, screws etc.)

I agree, true by-pass is over rated. If you don't believe me read up on what Pete Cornish thinks about true by-pass. Pete Cornish makes pedals and pedalboards for such artists as David Gilmour. Need I say more? Anyways, this pedal is great. I used to own the current block logo Phase 90 and even did the R28 mod, it was alright nothing special. This has a much deeper, and lush tone. I love how its not intrusive on your tone but adds to it. Turning the speed all the way down adds just enough to make your solos sound more full. Many uses for this bad boy.

Ok, so its not perfect, but it is a good attempt at a recreation of the original. I can't believe the folks whining about the lack of a LED or true bypass. If thats what you want, just get one of the other Dunlop MXR Phaser offerings. This product is not for you.

Think about this, EVH used an original Phase 90 and no one is complaining about his tone for lack of true bypass.

Yeah, I know the led would be nice, and a plug for a power supply would be handy, but this is how they (we) did it "back in the day". Enjoy this pedal as I have for decades. Originals are few and far between.
