The M-117R: a reissue of the infamous original.

Back by popular demand, the MXR M-117R Flanger creates a variety of wild sounds from dynamic jet plane or cool space effects to short delay, chorus, and vibrato. You have complete control of the filter so you can sculpt the sound you want. Back off the Width setting to zero to disengage auto-sweep, then use the Manual knob to physically place the effect anywhere along the frequency spectrum! Use with guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals.

The M-117R effects pedal has 4 knobs and a footswitch. The footswitch toggles the flanger effect on/bypass (red LED indicates on). The Manual knob selects the frequency center of the effect when auto-sweep is disengaged. The Width knob at zero disengages auto-sweep, but when you rotate it clockwise, it increases the total phase sweep of the effect. The Speed knob modulates rate of effect. The Regen knob feeds the effect back onto itself at adjustable intensity, increasing the total phase effect.

Awesome Flanger

This is one of the best flangers I've used. It has a wide variety of sounds, particularly when adjusting the Manual and Regeneration knobs. It's also pretty quiet. All pedals have some white noise (hiss) and this does but it's not bad at all.

For those who are comparing flangers: Do NOT get a Boss. They sound very thin and metalic. I still don't understand how a company that makes great chorus pedals can't make a good flanger.

I also like the Ibanez FL9. It's a little more chorus like, which is great for clean tones. However, it is VERY noisy in front of an overdriven amp. That's where the MXR shines. It has less than half the noise level. MXR makes great stuff. Highly recommended.

This pedal is a little expensive, but it does flanger the way it's suppose to be done. No complaints. You have so much control over the tone. Absolutely no volume change. I will have this pedal forever. It look nice too.

Awesome pedal. This is the best flanger pedal I have played with. With the 4 knobs, you can really pick out your sound. It may take a while of experiment to get what you want. I always trust MXR with all of their products. Roll with this one.

This thing is awsome. I just bought one last week after comparing it to the Boss flanger. This thing has a lot more balls than the Boss. Don't get me wrong, the Boss is a very good pedal. But the MXR is just a better sounding Flanger. It's built like a tank as is all the MXR pedals I own (which I own 6. You seriously can't go wrong with this pedal. Highly recommended
