I just got the desk a few days ago and at first very skeptical. BUT...I took my time putting it together so about 2 hours while watching a movie did it. I got it together and thought that maybe it may not work, it did...perfectly. I only required space for three rack mounted hardware items and the space is great for a controller keyboard (M-Audio Ozonic) but a full size would not fit. if i had one suggestion TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ THE DIRECTIONS. Lastly, use a few of the plastic washer to buffer between the metal panels and metal tubes to avoid metal vibration if you like to bump stuff. I am enjoying it now

Well, if you're on a tight, tight budget then I suppose this desk is semi-worthwhile. If you're looking for anything above mediocre quality then you're looking in the wrong place.

Cheap compressed wood, faux mica finish, cheap (light-weight-withstanding) casters, thin metal bends easily, poor hardware = poor bracing.

Design is not very flattering, Screen sits very high, keyboard shelf not sturdy.

Bought it for the budget, and a year later I'm tossing it as it has LITERALLY fallen apart from NORMAL use.

One Incredibly Frustrating Flaw

I bought this desk with the intention of eventually setting up a small studio. That's sort of been forgotten thanks to becoming very busy so I've started using it as an ordinary computer desk. It went together pretty quickly and it's a great size for a desk. My only real complaint is that the keyboard shelf DOES NOT LOCK in place, meaning that if you plan to rest your wrists on the shelf then it will go sliding in. Same for the trackball that I use. In fact I'm writing this review because this situation has just caused me to become frustrated enough to throw my headphones against the wall, shattering them into many pieces. Do not plan to use this keyboard shelf for anything other than light typing. It will get to you.

Flawed design

It's an ok desk, but after a year or so, I'm looking again. Problems are: the top shelf is way too high - neck gets strained looking at the screen, especially with an iMac (screen starts 3" above base). So, I removed the shelf boards and cut down about two rack spaces and is better, but still too high (need the rack space). Also, the space between the front of the rack and the front edge on the desk itself barely fits a midi keyboard. Then, can't really access the bottom part of the rack. Lastly, the photo with the speakers sitting on the side of the rack is wrong for good mixing (plus only the tiniest speakers will fit there). The speakers should be at ear level - mine are on stands and the bottom of the speaker is level with the top shelf. Ergonomically dysfunctional desk.

Very Good Desk

I've had mine for a couple years now and have had no problems with it at all. Putting it together took a couple hours but I haven't had to worry about it since. I guess only issue was that mine arrived with some bent pieces that I should've sent back. Since I was in too much of a hurry to get my studio up and running, I improvised. Don't do that. Anyway, for 2 years now, this desk has been a sturdy staple in my home studio. If I were to complain at all, I would say that the monitor stand is too high. I find myself looking up at it which isn't the most ergonomically safe way to go. Other than that, this desk has exceeded my expectations. Great Value.
