It's a great choice for project studios, performing bands, school music labs, and a wide variety of corporate installations and other contractor applications.

Comments about PreSonus Audiobox 1818VSL MXL CAD Package:
Upgraded to this unit after using the 2-channel Audiobox USB for about a year. I simply needed more inputs. It's been so much more than that. The ability to multitrack vocal group rehearsals, then instantly send each member of a trio or quartet away with a custom cd has helped our singers out tremendously. The singers really like getting getting a personal mix sent to their headphones while recording too.
Now, everyone shows up more prepared and rehearsal time is so much more productive.
Our church vocalists often hit the road, performing at small outdoor events and nursing homes. Plugging this unit into our PA system lets us go on a moments notice without lugging around a ton of equipment. And, when a member of the group can't make the event, I can pull up that track and the show goes on. Controlling the mix remotely with an iPad is just too cool.
It's plugged into a Windows 8 all-in-one HP 23" touchscreen computer. The big touch screen works well for tweaking the mix. It's never crashed or caused problems. Setup was very simple with the included software and drivers. It's mostly used with Studio1 software, though it's also worked flawlessly with Audacity.
Bottom line: This package has exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is very good. It equals what goes in to it. (Though the included effects are pretty awesome too.) I won't rave about the microphone, stand, pop filter, headphones and mic stand that we're included in the package. Honestly, I've not even opened up the boxes they came in. When I bought this, the package was the same price as buying the unit alone.
