Comments about Blue Yeti Pro USB Microphone:
Overall, it so far seems to do a lot of different jobs all in one mic, with good quality.
I still need use it more, and experiment, but I would recommend it for vocals, instrumentals, choirs, duets, and pretty much anything else. It really does have a wide variety of uses.
I like the gain knob as well, you can control how much depth the mic pics up, so if there is something loud that needs to be recorded, the gain can be turned down, and vice versa.
I don't know if this is a better deal than the plain Yeti microphone, but it is certainly doing the job, and I like to plug mine into an audio interface on occasion, so if you don't mind not having that option, then I would go with the regular Yeti.
The different modes that can be used for this are great! I tried using the Bidirecitonal mode for a duet with piano on one side, and voice on the other, and it sounded really clean!
The cardioid mode is really good for clean crisp vocals, but the stereo can be good too, having a more "live" sound.
I am upgrading from a Nady USB-1C, so this is quite a quality upgrade!
For the price ($230 on Ebay), it is absolutely worth the money. The sound quality of the mic seems really clean, and the desktop stand that it comes with is really helpful as well! It also comes with a volume jack thinger in which you can hear the sound source through the mic, which is great.
It's worth buying, in my opinion. I'm pretty new to using audio-interfaces and mics, but I think that this has a good sound for a good price, I've done quite a bit of research. If you want to know how it sounds, just check out a youtube clip or something.
