Shorter facing for more compact tone.
The Fobes Cicero Bb clarinet mouthpieces are a nod to one of the great masters of clarinet mouthpiece in the 20th century. The Fobes Cicero mouthpieces are not to be construed as copies, but rather as "made in the style of". The shorter facing produces a beautiful compact quality to the tone. There is also a special treatment of the tip baffle area to lend response and clarity to the sound.

Comments about Clark W Fobes Cicero Series Clarinet Mouthpiece:
In 1964 I purchased a matched set of Buffet clarinets from Frank Kasper in Chicago. With those instruments I also bought a Kasper 14 mouthpiece. Several years ago I replaced my original R-13 clarinet with a Vintage R-13, but was happy only with my original Kasper mouthpiece which I was still using 47 years later!. Finally I have found a mouthpiece that responds the same way as the original Kasper, has the same warm tone and uses the same reeds. I don't have to reinvent the wheel! Since I am a recreational player, I don't have time to fuss with everything just to get eady to play. This makes me VERY happy.
The mouthpiece is expensive, but worth it.
