Comments about Hodge Alto Sax Silk Swab:

I love this swab. I trust it much more than a pad saver to keep my sax clean and relatively sticky-pad-free.
However, although this swab is advertised as being designed to work with the neck, I and quite a few other alto and tenor sax players have found that this is not a good idea. I got it stuck in the neck of my tenor one of the first times I used it. I'm not even sure how the heck I got it out, but it involved a bench clamp and some ironing later. Luckily, the neck's octave vent was not damaged. I vowed never to try that again, so I bought a clarinet swab to use for necks and mouthpieces, and it works quite well.
