Comments about American Recorder Technologies Dual RCA Female to RCA Female Adapter:
Take heed that this review may have no merit simply because the origin of the following dilemma was never officially idenitified. Basically, I used a Hosa brand RCA to RCA 10 ft cable to connect from my television's RCA outputs to one end of this device and used a second 10 ft Hosa RCA to RCA cable to connect from the other end of the adapter to my computer's audio interface (an E-MU 1616) RCA inputs. There could be several different factors leading to the signal sounding like total crap, but I have a feeling that this product was one of those factors. Everyone knows that the longer a cable is and the smaller the guage of its wiring, the more resistance that cable will provide to a signal, which in turn can affect the signal's quality. Add to the fact that you are putting an adapter with mediocre contacts in between a long signal path, and you're going to have an even worse signal. However, I did not think that the signal which I listened to on my speakers would have sounded that bad. It might not even have had anything to do with this ART adapter, but nothing else in the signal chain, with the exception being the length of the chain itself, seemed like it should have any bearing on the quality of the signal. Therefore, I deduced that it was the adapter. You'll have to decide for yourself. Otherwise, this adapter is a great price.
