OVERVIEW

Reissue of a classic, but with better handling capacity.

Back in the late '60s, the G12H was created by fixing an 'H' type (heavy) magnet to the body of a G12M guitar speaker. Result: a speaker with more power and a different tonal balance: firmer bass and a more pronounced top end. So we added an 'H' magnet to the G12M-65 Creamback, create a speaker that delivers the sonic signature of a G12H combined with Creamback levels of power handling. The result is the G12H-75 Creamback. It delivers 75 watts of power handling with ease and has unmistakeable G12H tone, with a tighter low end than the G12M-65 Creamback and a punchier, more dynamic high end. The H magnet brings additional focus, body and girth to the Creamback tone. It thickens single notes, resulting in a highly articulate, vocal character. These additional characteristics mean that the G12H-75 Creamback offers exceptional performance when used for lead guitar and sounds massive loaded into a 4x12 cab.

Comments about Celestion G12H-75 Creamback 12" Speaker 16 ohm:

I bought a Marshall DSL 40c 4 months ago, and have had buyers' remorse ever since due to the cheap, trebly, tinny sound. Had to turn the Treble knob way down, clean channel was flat; overall, no bottom end at all. Kinda heartbroken with my new Marshall. But at first, I didn't know what the problem was. Did a ton of web research, and I saw that many other users of this amp replaced the stock Celestion Seventy/80 speaker with this one. Finally was able to get this one and BOOM! After the 10-minute installation, I was up and running with practically a BRAND NEW AMP! Now this thing sounds like a Marshall. With the stock speaker, I didn't even want to play it, and it made my second guitar sound like a cheap, bargain guitar (it's not at all, but for some reason, the pickups didn't agree with that stock speaker). I get that the DSL series is not made in England, but those stock speakers are junk, even if they are Celestions. But the G12H-75 Creamback made me love life again! And Musician's Friend shipped it to me a day or 2 sooner than expected! Great experience for my first MF purchase.

Comments about Celestion G12H-75 Creamback 12" Speaker 16 ohm:

Amazing sound quality out of the box. I put it in a Marshall TSL601 1x12 60W tube combo. Tung-Sol EL34's. Waited for the 16ohm so that I can have the option of running a 1x12 extension later since my amp can switch between 16ohm and 8ohm.

I used to have to turn the presence to around 7 with the stock wolverine speaker to get good sound, but this speaker has full sound without cranking the tone knobs. Working on breaking it in because I have read it just gets better and better with time.

Replaced stock speaker in a Marshall DSL40c with this and it's like a brand new amp.

Comments about Celestion G12H-75 Creamback 12" Speaker 16 ohm:

Watched alot of You-Tube videos on dozens of speaker comparisons using all the big American and British speakers and this one stood out! The ones that stood out for the sound I was looking for were not cheap,so I was patient and waited for a deal. That's when I saw the price on Musicians Friend for a great price,no tax,and free shipping! Bam! And in 5 Days it was at my door with my Blackstar Soloist( minus the celestion seventy -80 stock speaker) prepared and awaiting. 5 minutes later my vintage 70's strat was sing classic rock and blues!!!!! Powerful tight lows, mids and articulate highs with alittle classic British invasion grawl.Only problem is what to put in the Blackstar HTV 1x12 ext cabinet to make a perfect match made in classic rock heaven. I'm looking at the Celestion G12 V-Type 70 as one of the top picks. Soon, oh I will have my ultimate custom combo mini stack! TJ McWave
