Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

These were a little metallic sounding when I first put them on. But after a couple of days and a retuning, they have become warm and sensual.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

The Flatwound strings seem to be easier on the fingers and have a better tone. I don't play professional, but they seem to be a better choice for me.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

These are great strings if you are not a thumb pluck bassist. They are smooth and even growl a little bit. I have them on a fretless Jazz Bass. Perfect combo.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

Very nice sounding bass strings. I"ve used round wounds until now, I'll most likely never go back. Nice bright tones, no string zing, good for any style of music.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

Needed to finally break down and replace my expensive Thomastik Infeld flats on my Fender Jazz and didn't want to pay the megadollar in doing so- ordered my 1st set of ECB82 Chromes and I must say they are almost identical. Smooth feel and excellent tone. Definately worth the money, based off the previous set of high cost strings I just replaced!
            Very happy with the purchase!!

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

Strings are like playing style, there is no perfect one for everybody but for me, they are all that I use. These flat chromes are like my favorite bass, I may try something different but I always know what I have waiting that I can count on. My jazz bass with these chrome flats. I play everything from oldies, classic, southern rock, country, blues. With a little tone tweaking, you can get the sound you are after. These strings also produce the best sustain that I have ever found.

Very nice flats. The tension allows for ultra low action with zero fret buzz. Full tone, nice top end and lots of fundamental.

My last set of flat wound strings lasted 10 years. Can't complain about that. These strings, plus a good quality amp, produce a warm, full sound that's pleasant to listen to.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

They have a great sound expecially for flatwounds. With tone adjustment you can use these strings for about anything. Zero fret and finger wear. Last forever. FYI: On an American Jazz with Leo Quan BAB III bridge using string through the wrapping will not always clear the nut. 50/50 chance. I'm switching to the SL version of the same strings.

I have used a number of different of strings over 40 years of playing and I prefer these over any other flatwounds. Very full and consistent sound.
