I was a hardcore rounds-only user - until I tried these.

If you properly EQ your bass/amp you can get that classic "round" tone you want with none of the annoying string squeak, etc. that are so annoying, but unavoidable with rounds. Yeah, amazing but true. All the tone/sonic qualities of rounds with all the advantages (easier-on-fingers, less wear and tear on frets, etc.) of flats.

Works especially well with active basses. Also, works great by using a Tech 21 VT Bass pedal to help shape the sound

MF occasionally uses my old billing and shipping info. Even after confirming that they have removed this from their computers. So the strings went to an old address and had to be forwarded to me. This I will try again to rectify with their customer service which is normally very good.
Strings are excellent and if you play fretless I would suggest these over anything else out there....even the ones costing three times as much.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

My Schecter Diamond 4 now simulates the 60s Precision sound quite well, and fits literally all blends of music looking for that sound. In addition, I often find myself working behind small orchestras, requiring that my tone/style vary from stand up bass with flourish to steady synchronized tracking without drawing attention away from key instruments.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

Although there is a break-in period for these strings, I am aware of how they perform. I use them in all three of my bass guitars. In comparison to what I had in my basses, these strings give you that deep, smooth, full sound that I enjoy hearing. The mid's blend perfectly with the low end tones and the high's are clear with a slight mute which equates to a soft sound. I enjoy playing the Isley Brothers' music with these strings as they reproduce that full sound that they (Isley Brothers) have made legendary.

I'm using these strings on a Fender Nate Mendel P Bass and they give me the smooth warm sound I want but still have the crisp clear highs i want to hear. Mostly used to play country music.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

I play my instruments stock, meaning I don't change nothing physical but strings. I've wasted too much money on the instrument manufacturer's string brand and effort and self-doubt entered in. After a week those strings felt like rubber bands. Got the Chromes medium stock set yesterday and my playing is back! They're huge on sound, tone but they allow me to play fearless and fearless is what this professional bassist is all about.

I have these on my Precision and my Jazz Bass. Mostly I just jam with friends, but I have used these
for gigs and once they get past the short break-in period the tone and feel is really nice.

Comments about D'Addario ECB82 Chromes Flatwound Medium Bass Strings:

I have been using these for years and they haven't let me down. I just recently replaced a set I have had on my bass for years. I only replaced it because we are in the recording process and I felt my tone was lacking a little from the ancient strings. The new set feels great, but They will really start to shine after the newness wears off in a week or so.

Been using D'Addario bass strings since 1980. Won't use anything else. Fat tone. These strings don't go dead ever. The flatwounds are thunderous and punchy. Want a sixties vibe? These are the strings.
