Besides the fact that I got a bad set, I know these strings are amazing and this rusty set isn't going to stop me from buying more. They sound amazing and hold their sound for a long time when taken care of.
I gave these a two only because today as I took my guitar out of its case, I noticed the B and high E strings already rusting. I restrung TWO days ago, and have only touched the strings at that time, wiping them down right before putting my guitar back in its case. I'm sure this is just a rare occurance since the original strings on my guitar were the same as these and still sounded great with no rust for 7 months.
After I finished restringing and tuning, they sounded amazing. But now it's quite obvious that there's something wrong with those strings. Killed my experience.
This is only based on the orginal strings that were on my guitar.
I left them on for two months and tried out some Ernie Ball strings, but after a month I just didn't like it, so i changed back to the same set of D'Addarios. That was back in March and it is nnow late August and they just barely started to sound a bit dead. these stringds are amazing when you don't get a bad set.

They sound awful to me, but that's an opinion I guess.... however, I vastly prefer the 80/20's, which are more natural, mellow, and seem to go better with the sound of the plain steel strings.
I compared these stings to the 80/20 Bronze D'Addarios that I usually use, by taking an A string and placing it on my guitar in the 6th position, next to an 80/20 Bronze A string of exactly the same gauge. I then picked each string in different ways and noted the results. I would describe the 80/20 as soft and mellow compared to the phosphor bronze. The PB had a very harsh metallic sound to it that I found distinctly unpleasant. My guitar is a grand concert (folk) size Sunlite, with mahogany body and solid spruce top. I used nylon, celluloid and Ultem picks, and the results were pretty much the same in each case. I really dislike the sound of PB... oh, by the way, the PB flat-tops sound the same as the round-wounds, they just slide quieter and cost twice as much. The other string I tested that gave a more sharp but not unpleasant or metallic sound was the D'Addario Silk and Steels... but they do cost twice as much as the 80/20's or the PB's, and they only make one guage of each string, sold in a set.
As usual, D'Addarios are very well made and accurately sized strings.
Like the 80/20 Bronze strings, these are a low price a set and therefore a great deal.

I usually use D'Addario for my electrics, but this was the first time I bought this brand for my acoustic. I wasn't pleased. Sound is dull. Corrosion developed on one of the non-wound strings whithin the first week or two of playing.

I have used these for years and love them, they are well priced and last just as long as Elixers that advertise long life. They sound great and feel wonderful.

The strings are not individually pacaged. However, the color codes are provided so each string can be put in its proper place.

Comments about D'Addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings Single-Pack:
Best strings for the money. I play with a Blue Grass band I find that I can play in a 3 hour jam session and at the end of the jam my strings will stil be in tune. Have been using these stings for quite sometime. Tried other string but kept coming back to the EJ16's

Comments about D'Addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings Single-Pack:
Put my acoustic in to be setup and they put EJ16s on it and I thought, yeah, why not? But the EJ16's are way too trebly and twangy for my liking. Going back and quickly to Martin MSP7100's that have a much fuller, richer and deeper tone but it's personal preference I guess in the end.
