Comments about D'Addario EJ42 PB Resophonic String Set:

I was excited to try these because of good reviews but quickly found out that they are too heavy gauge for fingering and will make a lot of string buzz with a brass slide.

Also, if you have a biscuit cone resonator, the bass volume and tone will be great, but the heavy gauge tention will quell the sustain for all the rest of the strings.

Too much tention for impressive flat picking.

I'm changing back to brass strings immediately!

Comments about D'Addario EJ42 PB Resophonic String Set:

Had been looking for a heavy gauge string for my '47 Gibson L-5 so I could work without an amp. These Resophonic strings really fill the bill. With the brass group, I'm no longer hearing "turn up your amp"! And no distortion. Very responsive and great sounding.

Comments about D'Addario EJ42 PB Resophonic String Set:

I've been Playing Guitar for 52 Years now, and I have tried just about every Type and Name String out there. For me its not the cost of the Strings Its How they Sound, Play and Last. These are Great Strings, they Ring have a good sustain and the Last. What more can you ask for in a String. Give them a Try, You want regret it all all. Give The EXP a Try, I think You will find they are Awesome themselves.!!!

Comments about D'Addario EJ42 PB Resophonic String Set:

These are the best strings in my opinion for a sweet, warm, loud acoustic tone on the dobro in G tuning.

            Unbelievable!

Comments about D'Addario EJ42 PB Resophonic String Set:

I changed the strings on my resonator the other day as the old ones were starting to go dead. I thought the old ones sounded ok but took a friends recommendation to get these when I asked him about strings. Good choice. They brought the instrument to life and gave it presence and tone (not to mention volume) it had never had before. Ordering more today.

            Great Southern Sound!

            By DWelsh

Comments about D'Addario EJ42 PB Resophonic String Set:

These strings are perfect for any southern style music; sound clean and beautiful when plucked with the fingers, warm and loud when plucked with a pick, and bright, sassy, VERY loud and just purely badass when plucked with a metal pick! I prefer these with a heavy copper slide. The only thing I dont like is that the D and especially the G string always snap long before the others but that may be because I have my resonator in open E and A tunning all the time. What I love about these over all is the volume; these strings are LOUD!
