Comments about D'Addario EJ69 Phosphor Bronze Light 5-String Banjo Strings (9-20):

Good (not excellent) clawhammer banjo strings. The 1st and 5th strings at 9 tend to be quite sensitive to breaking regardless of how careful you are when re-stringing the instrument. Personally, I keep 2-3 extra 9 strings just as backups in case of breakage. Pretty good clawhammer picking tone with good sustain. They hold tuning very, very well. Good strings for practice but for jammimg and other group playing, I usually replace the 9 strings with a 9.5 or sometimes a 10.
