Nice for jazz and older rock sound

Pros

Cons

  • Not "bright" enough for some blues and rock.

Comments about D'Addario ETB92M Medium Tapewound Bass Guitar Strings Medium Scale:

I like these because they're smoother and allow more
glissando action on a fretted bass; maybe a tiny bit
closer to upright bass sound when playing jazz.
That being said, after having used these for the past
year, I might go back to "regular" strings for more of
a brighter "bite" and edge for rock.

Comments about D'Addario ETB92M Medium Tapewound Bass Guitar Strings Medium Scale:

Got these for a 69 Univox Hiflyer I found at a local music store. I have Chromes on my other basses and thought I'd give these a try. I now have another favorite string.

Comments about D'Addario ETB92M Medium Tapewound Bass Guitar Strings Medium Scale:

The description says they will fie a 34" scale bass (standard scale) but when I tried to put them on a 34 they were to short. The blue silk was 3" down-fret of the nut. Purchased a set of long scale and they fit great. I play mostly church and mellow jazz/rock and these strings are as smooth as they come. Warm and Rich is their claim and I agree. Good value and you can play for hours with no calluses.

As a note, Musicians Friend were very helpful in clearing up this error. Thanks Guys,

    Merry Christmas to All
