Decent Strings, but one flaw

By tmmwt2-T_1kf

Comments about D'Addario EXL165-6 XL 6-String Bass Soft/Regular String Set:

These are good strings for the money. I typically use the Warwick Black Label, but for the price I figured I would give these strings a try. They retain sound well and for a good amount of time. I find them to be bright in sound for nickel strings. There is one major issue with these strings though. i currently use a Warwick Corvette 6 string bass and the .135 string will not fit on the saddle for the string on the bridge. The bass of the strings where they have been wound is to large and will not set into the saddle. I like the strings, especially for the money, however, when only 5 of the 6 strings can be used, it greatly diminishes the value of the strings.

Good strings.

Comments about D'Addario EXL165-6 XL 6-String Bass Soft/Regular String Set:

I like these strings; they sound good, bright, but not overly so. They wear well, and retain their sound for a long time. I like the sound of nickel/steel strings, but most that I've tried lose their brightness pretty quickly. Stainless lasts longer, but the sound isn't to my taste.
