I've been playing bass for over 20 years. I used to work at The Guitar Center in San Francisco, and was able to try many different brands, and guages. I like Mark King, and Geddy Lee style of playing, and I've found that D'Addario extra light are the easiest to play, with quick response, bright tone, and they are easy on the fingers, because they are soft. They are my favorite brand, and guage, by far !

I have used many strings in the 20-some years I have been playing bass. The D'Addario strings are the best I have used so far. They have a nice bright tone and they really last! There are strings that sound just as good or even better but they don't have the life-span.
