Comments about D'Addario EXL220BT Balanced Tension 40-95 Long Scale Electric Bass String Set:
I've been using the D'D '220 superlights for years on a variety of 34"-scale basses, and love their bright, piano-string modern tone. Those looking for a more-traditional thump might find the tone a bit edgy.
The balanced-tension '220BTs are a surprising improvement; easier to play fast, and with a more-consistent volume/tone, string-to-string. They break in quickly, and stay in tune without drama. Just bought two more sets...
Note to those with 35" or longer scale basses w/through-body stringing; these strings, like standard '220s, may not be long enough. Best to check first.
