This is the best straplock design ever. You can remove the strap and put it on in a second or two, and you don't have to keep the strap attached to the guitar while in the case like other straplocks. I play a very heavy Les Paul copy and no longer have to curl my body over while playing so as to catch my guitar if it falls!

Tried it on an Ibanez RG2550Z (last year's model). You can barely put it on; the button head on the guitar is about 17-18mm, but the widest part of the strap holder is 17mm (the narrow is 10mm). Trying in an angle I finally managed to get it on, but there's not enough freedom of movement and I couldn't quite get it to sit right.

I removed right away, and noticed it left some rubber on the guitar. Maybe it's because I had to struggle to put it on, but it doesn't look like the right choice of material.

Summary:

* The locking mechanism looks nice (assuming it's durable, which I didn't test).
* It didn't fit my guitar because of the 17mm opening and because the holders are bulky thickness-wise.
* The rubber on the internal side isn't durable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I bought this from MF in January 2012. By August one of the plastic locks had broken and the strap was useless.

The strap lock at the base of my Fender Strat somehow got caught on something and cracked open. The plastic holding the screws was irreparably broken and the strap wouldn't stay on. Now the strap is useless.

This seems like a very poor design if it's this fragile.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I have an older less Paul standard that weighs just under 10 lbs. Rather than drilling bigger screw holes for straplocks I opted for this. It's a great idea. After a few jams the plastic that holds the nylon strap just broke unexpectedly. Thank God I had ahold of the neck. I took it to guitar center and gave it back ,hoping to warn others.,DON'T BUY IT!DEFECTIVE JUNK! First review I ever wrote. I don't want to see someone lose their guitar over it..

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Quality is good, fit is good, the locking parts are great. They are just too, way too short. These are a good 4" shorter than any other guitar strap I've ever owned, makes me feel like I'm playing a kid banjo while wading floodwaters.

I keep several guitars out and ready to play in my music room. These straps are great. The locks work well and I never worry about one slipping off the guitar. Just set it and forget it. A good price and delivered to my home in just a few days. I rated them high because they are just what I was hoping they would be. Wish I would have invented them.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Great for use with most guitars. Since the locking mechanism works on one side only, it won't lock to a button behind the guitar neck, like a Gibson SG, without twisting the strap. Not much of a problem but annoying for me.

I've has these on my Les Paul Classic and Gretch 5120 for about 6 months. Both are now scratched from the plastic ends that lock to the guitar. Also, the nuts from both guitars have come flying off at gigs due to the awkward way these things sit on the guitar. It took me 6 months to figure out I made a big mistake!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The reason im giving it an 8 is because its mainly meant for side on side (strat style) button placements or it'll be twisted up a little bit. Nothing too big, but a little annoying for me. This is actually my 2nd one, the first one i got was the 20 dollar one with a design for my bc rich (both buttons on the back). So what i did to fix it was cut the strap, flip the lock around, and sewed it back together. Perfect. But i bought a regular black one for my future guitar i plan on getting.H
Great guitar strap, perfect for the crazy guitarist.
Really good, strong material. Locks are strong and built to last.
            Totally worth the price.

            Best strap ever!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Great guitar strap for the money. The lock-on feature feels very secure. I use this with a Yamaha TRB1006 6-string bass, which is very heavy.
The lock-on feature works great! I was worried at first that it might scratch the guitar, but it turns out the locking part is made of strong plastic with a rubberized coating. Very good design.
So far it works great. No complaints.
Oh and it was pretty cheap!
