Affordable replacement packets for the Planet Waves' Humidipak humidity controller.

Each 3-pack of replacement packets for Planet Waves' Humidipak humidification system is an affordable way to keep your acoustic instrument at its proper relative humidity. The packets last from 2-6 months, so ordering a 3-pack can last you anywhere from half a year to a year-and-a-half.

The patented, two-way Humidipak humidification system (sold separately) is a two-way humidity controller that's recommended by Taylor guitars and other leading manufacturers for maintaining the stability and playability of your instrument. This humidification system maintains 45-50% relative humidity, eliminating all maintenance and guesswork. No more guessing if or when to refill the humidifier and worrying about drips or creating a mess. Unlike other refillable humidifiers, the Humidipak humidity controller acts as a gauge because it provides true two-way, purified humidity control. It adds or reduces moisture as needed to maintain proper relative humidity, which is the ideal climate for wooden instruments such as acoustic guitars.

Just place two packets in the double pouch, place the double pouch over your D and G strings, and let it hang down into the soundhole. Place the third Humidipak replacement packet under your guitar's headstock while in its case. Close the case and you're done. The packet will last anywhere from 2-6 months, depending on the humidity where you instrument is located. When the Humidipak packet becomes firm, discard it and replace it with another Humidipak replacement packet.

Keep your acoustic instrument humidified properly with back up packets that keep the humidity going when you order this packet 3-pack today.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packs (Four 3-Packs):

I love these packs, and the convenience they provide. Unfortunately, I order a guitar case at the same time. MF packed the gel packs loosely around the case, inside the guitar case box. On of the packets got punctured, spilling glop all over the guitar case and, of course, making the get pack unusable. The stuff cleaned off the guitar case okay, but left a sort of pale area where the color was bleached out.

I usually get these from MF because they have the best price. But it one out of every 4 is unusable - and messes up everything else in the box - then they are not so cost-effective.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves HuMIDIpak Replacement Packs (Four 3-Packs):

I have been using this system for over 2 years on a couple acoustic guitars, one of which is a vintage Epiphone and my baby. After loosing my cheap camping guitar to warpage in the bone dry Nevada climate, I knew that I needed something better and I soon found the Humidipak system and have been using it ever since. I also use a moistened sponge, which I add water about once a week, but if I forget the Humidipak is still there. The sponge helps extend the life of the Humidipak to 2 - 3 months.

Now for something THEY don't want you to know! You can recharge the Humidipaks! I use a microwave pasta cooker with a half-inch of water in the bottom and lay the Humidipaks in the upper section out of the water of the cooker then seal with the lid - DO NOT MICROWAVE. Simply let sit at room temperature for a couple of days and they will recharge. When recharged, they will feel soft and grainy again unlike the hard spent paks. I use 4 sets of paks with the 2 guitars (one set in each and 2 sets in reserve). When recharged, store the recharged paks in the zip-lock bags they came in and they will stay fresh until needed. Unfortunately, after a number of recharge cycles, I have noticed the desiccant material diminishes to less than in the original pack, so eventually you will have to replace them, but the 4 sets have given me 2 years service on 2 instruments in the Mojave Desert! I'm happy and so is my old girl Epi!
