This is a great capo. I've been using trigger-style capos for a couple years now because my first capo was a cheap screw-on Kyser, which was junk, and therefore I thought that all screw-ons were as cumbersome. However, this Planet Waves capo installs on your guitar's neck almost as quickly as a trigger capo--without pulling your guitar's strings. You may need two hands to put it on, but once it is on, you can easily unscrew and slide it up and down the neck with one hand. Just a few turns of the "dial" is all it needs. The Ned Steinberger Capo may look tiny, but it has no problem holding down all the strings. (To give you an idea--I could install it as far up as the 10th fret on my Epiphone 12-string and it held all 12 strings, no problem!) I always had to check that the E strings were down and sounding after putting on my old capos, but not with this one. It always gets it right. Unlike most capos which squeeze the neck between two bars, this one "hugs" the bottom and side of the neck, ensuring accurate positioning every time.I've tried it with a few different instruments and it's worked fine with all of them: 6-string, 12-string, nylon string, even my banjo and bouzouki. Planet Waves' products seem to be either hit or miss, but this one, in my opinion, is a definite smash!!

I have one of the standard Planet Waves Capos for my guitars which have radiused fretboards and it works very well so I bought this one to use on my vintage Harmony Stella which has a flat fretboard. It is easy to use and it doesn't interfere with your fretting hand, but overall it doesn't perform as well as the Shubb which is better at depressing all of the strings evenly and not throwing the guitar out of tune.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Classical Guitar Capo:

This is the first capo I've EVER owned that is capable of producing a clean sound on ANY fret! I bought my Tama Classical guitar in 1977 (yes, Tama used to make guitars - good ones!). It has a very wide, flat neck, and after the 5th or 6th fret, every capo I tried either would not quite reach across the strings, or some of the strings would buzz. This capo is flat-out AMAZING! I LOVE it!!! :)

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Classical Guitar Capo:

Yes, I said beautiful! It's the lowest profile capo I've seen, and the most effective. Ned Steinberger is an engineer's engineer. The guy is a genius at designing something completely utilitarian, and making it elegant, simple to use and very effective at what it's designed to do. No, it's not "headstock snappable," but it easily clips to my mic stand for instant access. And I never have tuning issues with it! Highly recommended.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Classical Guitar Capo:

I purchased both the NS capo for ukulele and the NS capo for classical guitar, and they both work great. They are lightweight, easy to use, have adjustable tension, and are so small they do not get in the way of playing like other capos often do. I have only had them for less than a month, so I am not sure how well they hold up, but they seem well made and I am very pleased with them so far!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Classical Guitar Capo:

I've used many capos; from the traditional wooden cejilla to the Kyser quick release, this Steinberger designed capo with the micrometer adjustment is by far my favorite. It's super quick to move and the low profile keeps it away from your hand. The ability to fine tune the amount of pressure is awesome. No more fussing around with tuning when you move the capo. I've been building guitars since 2002 and studied lutherie with Jose Romanillos in Spain, so I know guitars pretty well. This product is a no brainer.
