I recently bought a Fender Jazz bass and wanted to put some new strings on it since it was on the store for many years. I'm satisfied with D'Addario's EPS220. Very bright and "clean" sound just as they promised. Also very "soft" on play. But if you're looking for that extra heavy warm bass these are not for you.
