I just ordered my 4th one; now everyone in the band gets one. Big smiles.
The weight, portability, strength, and ease of adjustment ease make it the best overall mic stand. I can't think of anything it is missing, feature-wise. It works & works well every time.
Best I've found. A cut above all other boom stands. I do have some older, heavy floor ring mics that are on a par quality-wise, but they aren't as functiional overall. This is the one to have.
They cost more, but they're worth it. A very important piece of road gear; worth the investment.

Not sure why this microphone stand is getting so many high marks. The stand is made in Korea and you can tell. Many of the adjusters seem cheaply made and when fully extended with my recording microphone on it slowly sags. I was really surprised when I received it that the quality of this stand was not higher.

Comments about DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

Here's another classic case of quality over quantity. If you use cheap mikes then by all means, buy a cheap stand. However if you're a pro or gigging musician with high end mikes like me, then you want to protect your investment by using a quality, sturdy stand like this one. Over the years I've had the cheapo stands break and become unstable after just a couple years of gigging (actually the same goes for the mikes too!)so I finally invested in a couple Shure SM-58 vocal mikes, Monster cables and one of these fine stands about six years ago and all the shakey onstage issues were solved along with all the noise and garbage that came from my old cheesy vocal gear. I'm happy to say that the stand, cables and the mikes still function perfectly and looking at them you would think the hardware is brand new. So if you want a stand that will last for years, is infinitley adjustable and rock solid then look no further. The only other stands I've found with this kind of quality are the Hercules stands, which I use exclusivley for my basses, so take my advise and go for quality, not junk. Unless of course you're into buying the same hardware over and over again. I'm about to purchase a second DR stand and Monster cable for my other mike cause the band has picked up another singer and I want her beautiful voice to be the only concern she has, not the shoddy hardware she brought to the table.

Comments about DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

We have these quality stands and some cheaper ones at a venue where I run sound. The cheaper ones are becoming sloppy and breaking. So, when we needed additional stands, I ordered more of these quality stands that have served us well for years.

          Great Stand!

          By Patrick Conway

          from Santa Cruz, California

Comments about DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

This is the only stand you'll need - look no further! We've used a couple of these for the past 5 years and under constant use by many hands, they're still like new (unlike the less expensive ones). Great hardware and functionality. Solid construction - you'll feel the quality when you take it out the box. In the long run, you'll save money by getting these, because they'll outlast the cheaper ones 3x. And you'll enjoy using a quality product all along the way.

Comments about DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

You get what you pay for. You could buy a cheaper stand that may suit your needs. If you gig regularly and toss stuff around, go with this stand. I'm a drummer and use this stand for my vocal mic. It's heavy duty with good reach and has never let me down.

          An excellent buy

Comments about DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

I just got 2 of these in. I was gambling that these would be at least a little better than the ON-STAGE stands that I already have. I just opened them about 10 minutes ago and am very happy with my decision. Ya, the cost a bit more, but it's absolutely worth it. Since I bought these 2 on the Stupid Deal of the Day, it made my purchase that much sweeter. I'm going to buy 2 more!

          Best Stand EVER!

          By jocelyn

          from VA

Comments about DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

What I like best about this stand is that it telescopes so if you worry about people hitting the opposite "boom" end of your mic stand while dancing in front of you then this is the stand for you! It doesn't have to stick out the other end because it slides inside itself. It's HEAVY and sturdy and best of all... it's SO easy to adjust while you're sitting on a stool... want to move it a half inch closer? There are TWO adjustment spots, and one is close up to you so it's so easy to make tiny adjustment and make it SO comfortable to play. GET THIS STAND!!! And it's cheaper than when I bought it 3 years ago too!
