installed on a set-neck guitar w/ Duncan JB/Jazz pickups, playing into a Fender Roc Pro 1000 combo set for a pretty trebly response - but they sound dead even before i plugged in. my wife and friends say that the guitar sounds "muddy" and "needs more crunch" on the distortion channel now. i remember having the same issue in 1997 when i first tried DR Hi-Beams (the ones that DBD was playing at that time) on another set-neck that had EMG pickups, but figured i'd give them another run w/ my newer gear. oh well, at least they feel good.
good smooth feel w/ easy bending, but sound rather dull out-of-the-box
haven't broken any yet
i can't justify the price for a set of strings when they don't sound significantly better than the alternatives

These are amazing I bought some a couple months ago and ive been buyin em ever since. there great for Drop tuing. i use drop c and they still work great on bends, also I have never broken a string sice ive been buyin these

These strings are really well suited for metal rythym and leads. Made my cheap strat copy sound like a million bucks, definitely enhanced its low end and made the highs really shimmer and sparkle. The strings feel like liquid and its easy to pull off wicked leads without difficulty.

This set of Dime's has to be the best out of all the hi-voltage sets for me. I've tried all of the gauges out to see which one worked best. These stings last the longest and sound better for longer than any other strings I've used. I play in alot of different tunings such as standard E, D, and C, and drop d and c. These strings cover that whole spectrum and I've never had any DR string break on me. I just wish my local store carried these cause I'd rather just pick some up there than having to order them but they do carry the hibeams and pureblues which are both great strings but the dimes got them beat for heavy music. If you haven't tried this string out yet I strongly suggest that you do.

I recently bought a Dimebag Darrell tribute guitar and the strings that it came with were horrible! I put on Dimebag DR's 11 gauge and the sound increased by so much. The distotion is so crunchy and amazing.
