DR Strings

Drop-down tuning guitar strings that go right into tune and lock in.

The first thing you notice with DR Drop-Down Tuning Guitar strings is how stable they are. DDT strings maintain their intonation at lower tunings far better than other strings you may have played or heard. Players say DR DDT guitar strings are so stable it is almost eerie.

Now you can "stand and deliver" in-tune notes at lower pitches that are clean and clear—plus you can drop tune with confidence and accuracy. You'll be surprised how few adjustments you'll make to change tunings and will be even more surprised how well DR Drop-Down Tuning strings lock into tune.

Experienced players comment: "Tuned down, I was never able to play a favorite riff. It always came out muddy and garbled. Now it is crystal clear. I am going to record it and give it to my bandmates, who could not hear it before."

DR DDT strings deliver far more than just heavy gauges—they deliver impeccable tone.

XX-Heavy gauges: 12-16-20-38-52-60.

Comments about DR Strings Drop-Down Tuning XX-Heavy Guitar Strings:

Well, unless my particular item was defected, as soon as I put the first string on my guitar and tuned it up to standard E, the string snapped. I didn't even bother putting the rest of the strings on.

Comments about DR Strings Drop-Down Tuning XX-Heavy Guitar Strings:

I use these for tuning down to B standard and they are perfect with or without a tremolo. They feel firm enough, but not too tight and make for easy shredding. I wouldn't suggest going lower than B standard, but they would probably still hold the up well in A# or even A standard. I don't tune down lower than B and wouldn't know how well they do going lower.

I get a lot of good old school death metal tones with these stings. I've tried a lot of different strings and these are the only ones that really are made for lower tunings. They do their job, sound great and last a very long time. It's very simple really. You put them on, stretch them out a little, tune up and you're in knee deep in metal \m/

Comments about DR Strings Drop-Down Tuning XX-Heavy Guitar Strings:

Wonderful strings from DR. Recently swithched from D'Addario and am so pleased! I play Metal and we tune to Drop B. Easy intonation transition, stays in solid tune, don't have to spend 30 minutes stretching your DDTs.

As I said earlier, A .22 guage plain G string would round this set out perfectly. I am a rhythm player in my band is why I would like to see this change. Still I will continue to play this excellent set of strings. Maybe others feel the same way about this issue and DR will listen!

    Great product, DR!!!

    Definitely Worth Getting

    By Adam Castro

Comments about DR Strings Drop-Down Tuning XX-Heavy Guitar Strings:

I am a music hobbyist (rock and acoustic) and I am also involved with multiple worship teams, so I play in two different tunings, drop D and also drop C. These strings have been able to do both for me interchangeably and beautifully. I use the Mega Heavy DRs for drop B and lower simply because I think they compliment a strong attack for the lower tuning, however these strings can still pretty much hold at a drop B tuning and make it sound okay. Great value, great quality, definitely worth getting.
Definitely has awesome sound that lasts for a good while. The only feature that would make this product fantastic for me would be to make the low 60 string possibly a 62...
Great quality, awesome strings that I have used for a little over a year now.
You get a good strong drop D sound, and I like that a lot, and in drop C it is comfortablely strong...however I do feel that in proportion, the low 60 is a little too weak for lower tunings, it can handle it, but not in a strong upfront manner. If it were a little thicker it would be great, but for the price and what it is, it is an awesome value.

    Holy crap

    By Cameron Brooks

Comments about DR Strings Drop-Down Tuning XX-Heavy Guitar Strings:

Overall, a 10/10, 5 star product. I've always stuck to DR's and Ernie Ball's, but these take the cake. Like I said earlier, the lowest string lacks a tiny bit, but that's just my taste. Other brands do the same thing. Nothing I can really do about that. Great product. If you drop tune, or just tune low, these are it. Great for Dropped B, fantastic for C Standard. DR has really outdone themselves this time.
Fantastic! Just fantastic! When I first put them on, I wanted to test them. I tuned them down to B standard. B STANDARD. They held it! I normally play in dropped B, but it's nice to know they can hold lower (they will never need to for me.) The only reason that this is an 8/10 instead of 10/10: The lowest string. It can hold a B just fine, but I wish it were a spot bigger. Say, a 62 or 64 instead of 60. Other than that, simply the best.
Sound bright, full of life, make my power chords shake the room, make my leads cut the air. I can tell they will last, made of real stuff. What else would you expect from DR, though?
The price is perfect. Great price for a great product. Definitely buying again.
