A vibrant string that glows.
NEON is the second in DR's SuperStrings series. Super bright in daylight, and with stage lighting. DR's NEON strings are so bright in appearance "they look like they are on fire." DR's NEON strings shine brightly under stage lights, and are 100% black light active so they glow strongly under UV lighting. And DR's NEON sound as good as they look. As Joey Clemment from Selena Gomez said, "Yeah they look great, but they sound incredible!"
NEON is the first coated string to make no apologies. While NEON lasts as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) they sound as good, or better than uncoated strings.
K3 Coating Care
The K3 coating on EXTRA-life strings is designed for use with standard picks and fingers. The K3 coating can be damaged by scraping against metal. It is important that care be taken when stringing guitars and basses where the strings are passed through a metal block or bridge. Scraping can damage the coating.

this is the first time I tried them and the look, the sound, the feel, and playability is just great. I can play for hours and my fingers don't get tired , or get dirty from the strings. and they are a great value. top quality product. I definitely getting more of these strings.

I bought 2 sets just specifically for a Halloween gig & amp; from the GET GO - they sucked first of all they WERE more expensive but I see have went on "sale" now that Halloween is over The first set opened them up strung up the first high e & a lot of slippage due to the coating - when winding them up & after I got them all on started LIGHTLY stretching them out a little & PING high e- broke! Then after I fixed that problem plugged in they have TERRIBLE TONE just awful unless you were playing Jazz or something just terrible OK then @ the gig they didnt stay in tune for CRAP played 3 sets about an hour each tuned twice before we started & once each set & once each break between sets !! Nothing makes me MADDER than this & the coating started FLAKING off almost immediately! After one gig they look terrible & really didnt look that great to begin with I was really looking for that WOW factor for our Halloween gig with black lights & special Halloween effects but the only WOW factor I got was what a waste of $24 for 2 sets ! These things are CRAP! WOW what a mistake!

Overall, these strings played well, very similar to the Elixirs that I normally use. Held their tuning and tone well(They also looked pretty cool under the stage lights, I have to admit).
Herein lies the rub........the nice day-glo green coating lasted 1 practice session and 1 gig before it chipped away over the pickups, and the strings got nasty almost immediately. For the price, I will be going straight back to the Elixirs. Sorry DR, nice try.

I bought this after reading some reviews and seeing them on youtube clips. If you like the fact that they will glow in the dark under black light, then by all means get them. However, if you are a serious guitar player that cares about his tone and playability of his guitar, then please stay away from these. To me, they feel like I'm playing nylon strings..yah, nylon I said!. Even that would be bearable if they only didn't totally kill my tone. Just trying to save you some money.

good tone for about a week and then they sound dull its all caused by the coating being too thick...only really good for drop tuning not good with single coils either if you buy them buy at least two packs...

These look awesome on my white Shecter Hellraiser C-1. But they do seem to lack the tone u might want. to me they sound dull and took away that bite that i like. but this my own opinion they look great but u pay the price in the sound.

Not only do they sound good, but also don't corrode, they look cool, and anything that glows under a black light that gets my students to practice more is awesome! They feel a little awkward at first because of the coasting, but just ignore it. It is in every since of the word AWESOME!

I bought the DR neon green light guage strings. These strings looked awesome on my guitar. They definitely catch the eye. However, the sound and quality leave much to be desired. I played them for two weeks and could not put up with them any longer. The tone is dull and unresponsive. You cannot distinguish each note when playing chords. Also, the strings never would hold tune. I will not be buying anymore.

i was skeptical about using coated strings, but these are the best strings ive ever played on, i play in the metal band gaia and i have to say my tone has never popped like with these strings, they sound amazing whether your playing along to bb king or between the buried and me and although this may sound like a stretch, they even sound better than the dr dimebag strings, and what really got me was the way they felt, they are the most comfortable thing ive ever played with. get these. you'll never go back. any questions feel free to email me
