Comments about DR Strings Phosphor Bronze Acoustic 5-String Bass Strings:

These strings are nice sounding at first. They loose the luster quickly. Stretch a lot. Are not as tight as I would like them to be. Look good. Feel good.

Comments about DR Strings Phosphor Bronze Acoustic 5-String Bass Strings:

I found a set of strings that have great tone and are loud. The RARE DR strings kept me from selling a bass. I was disappointed that the stock pickup on the Michael Kelley Dragonfly 5 string fretless does not pick up the low B. The pickup appears to be sized for four strings. The other strings are so much louder and sound great electrically but the low B lacks. The DR RARE strings will be my main bronze set.

Comments about DR Strings Phosphor Bronze Acoustic 5-String Bass Strings:

Bought my first acoustic bass ever (used) and changed out old strings to these. Real nice sound, but if I play for awhile my hands and fingers are black! Maybe this is normal for this type of string? Is it the phospor or the bronze? I'm SO confused! :^ } Probably will eventually get the grime off them. Anyway, I like them and just have to go wash my hands afterwards...

As soon as I put these strings on my tone changed exponentially for the better! I hope they last as long as others have been saying- time will tell...

          Not for

Comments about DR Strings Phosphor Bronze Acoustic 5-String Bass Strings:

These are great strings for a fretted bass. Only flatwound strings should be used on a fretless bass ,as regular wound strings will ruin a fretless neck!!!!

          Good strings!

Comments about DR Strings Phosphor Bronze Acoustic 5-String Bass Strings:

After some research, I decided to purchase these strings for my acoustic electric bass. I removed a new set of D'adarrio and replaced them with the new set of DR's. Big difference in the tone! The DR's have a fatter sound and the sustain is much better. I made a good choice. The only drawback is that the strings are a little coarse for my beautiful Michael Kelly 5-string "fretless" acoustic bass.
