First off, since it is not listed, this slide is for a Ring Size 9. Turns out its too small for us "Bigger Than Average" players haha. Aside from that detail, it is an excellent value. I've tried using it on my Acoustics and I would agree with previous reviews that it is more for an Electric guitar. The sound just does not "Pop" as well on an Acoustic. But if you are looking for an affordable electric slide (and your ring size is no bigger than 9!), look no further!

The brass version of this slide is awesome. The "chrome" one is really dinky sounding. The patina of brass looks vintage after a few days also. Gives it that antique look that I like. The sound is good for acoustic guitars without a resonator cone.

Comments about Dunlop 220 Chromed Steel Guitar Slide:

Simple, basic, well constructed and lacking an edorsement that makes others 3 or 4 times more expensive than they need to be. I could have probably used a little bigger size than this. It's a pretty tight fit for me so make certain you get one large enough for your finger.

Comments about Dunlop 220 Chromed Steel Guitar Slide:

With many years experience playing,I m pretty new at slide,I didn t like slide because I could never find a slide that had that certain feel to it, that felt comfortable. With the 220 I m starting to make some headway into uncharted ''Muddy'' waters.

      great slide

Comments about Dunlop 220 Chromed Steel Guitar Slide:

this slide rocks. it has great sustain with a really bright tone. if you dont know how to use a slide and this is your first one, you put it on your ring finger and rest it on top of the strings. rest your fingers behind the slide to mute unwanted notes. its easy and cool to use.

      Good for an electric

Comments about Dunlop 220 Chromed Steel Guitar Slide:

I have two guitars: a great old acoustic and a new archtop electric. I normally keep my electric tuned in open E or open G for slide and the electric in spanish (standard) tuning. For my low-action acoustic, this slide doesn't sound good, but is really easy to play with because it is so light. It sounds really good on my high-action archtop, but I would prefer a heavier slide for ease of playing. If you have a low-action electric, I would say this slide would work great (I have been considering getting a G&L tele). For an acoustic I would use a glass or ceramic, and for an archtop I'd use a heavier metal or glass.

Had it for 3 years now

Comments about Dunlop 220 Chromed Steel Guitar Slide:

Still nice and chromed. It hasn't worn or started sounding dull or any of that. I'm not an excellent slide player at all, but it works pretty well for me. It works real well with either a mahogany bodied guitar or basswood because it's pretty bright sounding. But it's not a thin bright. It's more for electric guitar because it doesn't really have the mass an acoustic would need. Overall, I'd buy it again if something happened to mine.
