Comments about Dunlop Celluloid Classic Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
These Dunlop Celluloid picks gives me that Classic tone that only a good quality celluloid picks deliver. I prefer the XH ( Extra Heavy ) gauge for full control and warm tones of a thick pick. These Dunlops tend to last a bit longer than other comparable type, style & brand. Celluloid picks normally do not last very long specially for players that play and gig a lot. Extensive playing will usually start showing some wear on celluloid picks in a matter of hours. I've played a lot from other brands in my entire 29 years of guitar playing and these Dunlop Celluloids tend to last a lot longer than the others I've tried. Great classic tone and control. And yes, I tend to agree with people saying that the different color seems to deliver a slight difference in tone and attack. The tortoise shell color seems to have a brighter attack than say a white or black ones which normally has a richer, warmer tones compared to the tortoise shell color. Nowadays I've been playing the Dunlop Jazz III XL Series Nylon Stiffos ( Black ) for electrics and the Herco Flex 75 nylons ( Silver ) for acoustic work and they are my standard picks of choice but I still play a Dunlop Classic celluloid on a regular basis whenever I crave that classic tone and familiar feel. I started out with a celluloid pick and I still love the feel and tones they give me.

Comments about Dunlop Celluloid Classic Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
The abalone picks are the most beautiful picks I have ever seen. The celluloid tone is great. The dunlop shape beats fenders shape.
Better than tolex.

These pics are ok.... I am trying to find something that feels natural in my hand but these dont quite do it for me. Maybe I should have tried a shorter firmer pic, but these are ok.
Comments about Dunlop Celluloid Classic Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
I'm sure it's a good product although it's for a gift.
Well, I WAS disappointed about the color. The picture showed several different "confetti" colored picks, it showed some marbled looking ones and while it DID show the red, white and blue -- the WHOLE PACK was of the red, white and blue. I thought I was getting a mixture of various colors. That bummed me out - it was for a gift. I know it's only picks but I liked the various colors I thought I would be getting. Otherwise, I'm never disappointed w/MusiciansFriend purchases!
Comments about Dunlop Celluloid Classic Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
Simply put, the Shell Celluloid picks in heavy gauge give me the precise attack I need for heavy rhythms and solos (due to it's gauge and sharp tip). That being said, be careful when experiencing with the different color patterns, because while they're all made of Celluloid, likely due to the individual color mixtures used, they literally affect the tone and attack some when using a different color schemed pick of the same gauge even. The tips are sometimes different as well; some are sharp tipped (Shell heavy) and some are comparitively more round (Black heavy)in my experience. Generally you needn't worry, but if you've been playing long enough, your senses are more keen on picking up these subtlties - enough to affect your sense of feel.Fantastic buy if you want a more vintage tone and warmth in a standard sized pick. I like it not because of those things, but because it just feels and plays perfectly for me.

Dunlop is always great, and these picks are no exception. I bought a pack of the heavys from a local guitar shop and got screwed on the price. buy these. it doesn't get any better.
Comments about Dunlop Celluloid Classic Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
These picks are great. I've used some of the "rough" picks in the past, but I like how these slick ones "stick" to my fingers. I've used the Fender ones too, as well as the Jim Dunlop "gel" picks, and it could be in my head, but these seem a little stickier and a little more durable. They also hold their shape better, they don't get bent out of shape. I like the confetti colored ones because I think they look the best, and they are easy to find when you drop them (unless you have some really crazy carpet.) I only put a 4.5 on value because, like all guitar picks, they're a bit pricey for something made out of plastic, and there is no option to buy a large pack of these either.
