These picks are absolutely remarkable. I play on a Martin DX1AE dreadnought style guitar at bluegrass jams most every week and month. I almost always have folks commenting on the great tone of these picks on my guitar and theirs as well when I loan them out. These picks are not the thickest yet they do not bend, meaning you will likely have increased speed and a sharp sound when picking with the very tip of it, as well as a nice fat rhythm when you get to strumming and using a bit more of your pick. These picks are much smaller than what many musicians are used to and therefore take some getting used to. However, even if you do have large or bigger hands than what is considered "average" the grip on these picks will still give you a solid feel. These picks take a very long time to loose their gripping abilities from wear or sweat. Even after a constant four hour or longer hot outdoor jam these picks stay firmly in place without me having to place a death grip on them. I have tried many picks from Tortex material picks to nylon Clayton picks and other brands and materials from Dunlop as well and they just didn't produce the tone or comfort I was seeking. Heck, I've even gone ahead and spent 40 dollars on small company custom made three pack picks that still lack the sound these little Jazzers have. For [$] for a pack of six and [$] for a pack of 24 you are not likely to find a better value in picks or material than these if you are a working class musician like me. Additionally, the size and feel of these picks are wonderful for mandolin playing as well, bringing out the fantastic sharp clarity, chirps, and chops mandos are known for. Go ahead and stock up on these or just try one pack. For [$], even if you don't appreciate them as much as myself or other players, at least you didn't break the bank in the process. Happy pickin'!

I can't give these picks a really low rating because many excellent guitarists swear by them, but they are just too small for me. My thumb and finger hit the strings no matter how I adjusted my grip. I have ordered the Jazz lll XLs and will see if they can replace Moshay blacks as my pick of choice.

Comments about Dunlop Max Grip Jazz III Carbon Fiber Guitar Picks - 6 Pack:

I've played every Jazz III pick under the sun and this one may be one of the best. The grip is effective but to insane like other picks I've seen. It's comparable to the Eric Johnson pick, just a little bit more grip action going on.

Comments about Dunlop Max Grip Jazz III Carbon Fiber Guitar Picks - 6 Pack:

The max-grip feature could be really useful but I've never had a problem dropping picks, it feels ergonomic to me but not beneficial. The raised logo of the standard Jazz III picks feels every bit as solid and secure as these, maybe even more so.

As far as tone goes, to me, carbon fiber has more bass than nylon with less brittle highs. I find that Ultex has a more throaty sound with more open lows and more crisp highs but not as much overall bass as carbon fiber.

If you're not used to holding picks right at the tip, or you strum a lot, you may have trouble with "U.S.A." and "Jazz III" grabbing at your strings.

The most notable part about these is durability because they last a very long time, even longer than Ultex. I prefer Ultex Jazz III and Ultex Sharp picks because Ultex bounces off the string like no other material and it's super smooth making it effortless for playing fast. This carbon fiber has a great release too but none of "bouncy" quality I've grown fond of.
If you have trouble dropping picks and you use Jazz picks you can't not try these!

These picks are nice, but they do not flex at all. It's almost like playing with a filed down dime. I bought a pack of the Dunlop Red Jazz3 at first and it took a little bit to get used to the smaller size, but now I just love them. The red ones do have a very slight flex, but they are still pretty stiff as well. So I decided to try the carbon fiber ones. I like the grip and the cool sound I can get out of them. It just takes a little while to get used to playing with a small, non flexing pick. I think these picks give a really nice tone and volume to my picking style and they are really easy to hold on to. I am glad I got them.

Yes, Jazz picks are smaller!! And that is a good thing for speed and varying attack. I like these picks. I am 6.5" tall and my hand can palm a basketball. These picks are not too small. They have a great feel and response. I like blues and vary between chords and lead lines. You may not like this smaller pick if you just play distorted power chords. Which is fine, I started out that way when I was younger...
