OVERVIEW

Long-lasting strings with warm, clear tone and a smooth, tactile feel.

A unique combination of crisp highs, aggressive mids, and a focused low end gives Dunlop electric guitar strings a voice all their own. The Dunlop recipe for string-to-string balance and responsiveness produced a 6 string set that is perfect for dynamic lead work, while notes in a chord ring out clearly whether clean or heavily distorted. This powerful voice is delivered in a low-tension string with a smooth tactile feel that breaks in fast and lasts a long time.

Got these strings free months ago...recently I got a new LP and was thinking whether i would keep it.. It had very old strings on it and sounded very trebly and thin!! so i figured i would use the freebies rather than my standard 10's D'Addario's. I did a setup, adjusted the neck, string height, intonation...and replaced the strings with these Dunlops...and I must tell you that these strings sound great. This LP had a very bright character and these strings added lots of low end punch. I am going to try these on my strat and my other LP.....they seem very nice!!

I play a custom Jackson King V JS30KV with a fret swap for stainless steel fat frets. I didn't play it much while I had these strings but, High e broke so easily. I was tuning to standard e but, halfway it broke. They did feel smooth for the time I had them. I would recommend these as back ups if a string breaks because, they are very flimsy but, get the job done well. I gave these a 2-5 due to how short of a lifespan they had. They cannot even come close to my factory strings that came with this guitar. These lasted 2-4 months where, my factory strings lasted 2 years, and gave me beautiful sound.

Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings - Medium:

Nice clean workmanship. I worked in the string biz for many years and recognise good wrapping. I recently bought 3 sets of my former brand and could not use the 46's because the find was a jumbled cluster and would not fit through the top mount bridge on a Telecaster I built.

Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings - Medium:

I've tried most strings in many different guitars and basses. Dunlops are just right. I cant find a better way to describe them. They are not overlly bright, not dull, just right. The other cool thing is that they come out of the package sounding that way. No need to wait a couple of days for them to settle. And to top everything, the last a long time sounding exactly the same. Nut wait, i almost forgot to mention, they are cheap!!! I keep recommending them for both bass and guitar.

Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings - Medium:

I will NEVER use these strings again. Yesterday, I was on stage with my band, my strings were kind of new (about two weeks after I installed them), we were on the last song -Master of Puppets. In the second verse, my 6th string (yes, SIXTH STRING) broke! If you need strength, use Earnie Ball, I've never experienced a broken string on their sets. But my last two Dunlop products got their thickest string broken.
              This is not acceptable.
The reason may be I use thick picks, but Dunlop is the only brand that I experience such problem.

I go through strings like a new-born does diapers! These were on sale and the reg. price is pretty fair as well. They are very bright and on my G&L ASAT yet, they warm up nicely after an hour playing so I'm happy with them...way to go Dunlop and Musician's Friend!

When and if you ever need a beefy tone, then look no further than these strings. They didn't allow me to get the sound I wanted (because the strings added so much beef on their own), but they did have a quality sound and good feel nonetheless.
