For picking a mandolin, I love the shape and feel of the tortex Jazz3. It offers just enogh flex to bound off each string, ready to attack the next note. It is a little frustrating that the logo wears off so quickly, because I change picks for different sounds, and most of them are black, so telling the difference gets tough.

Guitar picks are unique in that you can regularly experiment with different types and styles to determine what works best for you without spending too much money. You might be looking for a certain sound, a particular feel or, in some cases I suppose, a particular look. In the end, we all end up finding something that works for us, and in my case I've settled on the Tortex Pitch Black jazz picks. I've tried nearly every jazz pick on the market," and I keep coming back to the Pitch Black in 1.14 mm. ""Feel"" is difficult to describe"," but these little dynamos are extremely comfortable to play; they almost feel ""warm"" in your fingers", and maintaining a proper grip isn't an issue - even under the most trying of circumstances. Best of all, they provide a smooth and even string release without that annoying click that you get with some of the hard plastic jazz picks. Try some for yourself and see what you think!

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
Great picks. If you like smaller jazz picks, then these are the best. They have a lot of different sizes, so you can get them as thin or as heavy as you want. I've tried the nylon and ultex jazz picks, but I like the tortex feel a lot better.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
I just wanted to see if I might like it. I've been playing the Dunlop Tortex 1.0mm Sharps for years, and wanted to give these a try. Not enough surface area for thumb harmonics, pick scrapes etc. I suppose it's all what you get used to, and I can't say I gave these a fair run. It just immediately felt too small.
Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
Used these for a while, when this was the best there was. Don't use 'em now, use Planet Waves Black Ice. Try em, they're way better
Too slick, and tip sticks.
These wear out in a song or two.
Cheapest jazz picks... in every way.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
For 20 years are the only picks I have used. The Pitch Black are cool looking with very good grip and the Jazz shape and feel. Won't play with anything else
Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
Kick butt pick. Really gets the job done. I would suggest getting pretty fast with those fat, chunky standard picks and then trying these. You're mind will be blown away for sure. I thought I was moderately fast but this pick made me real fast, quick. Look no further and do yourself a favor.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
I have a good friend who has switched from regular sized Tortex Picks to these small Black Tortex Jazz Picks, and he said that they will actually make you play better. My friend also said that they compel the player to pick with precision and they are good picks for both acoustic and electric. He uses the .88 mm. Think I might try em (1.0 mm) and see for myself.
Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
After getting one of these amazing picks from my guitar teacher 2 years ago, they're the only picks I use. They are great for speed playing and are perfect for my small hands. I would recommend these to guitar players of any experience.
Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:
I discovered years ago that you couldn't go wrong with a Tortex pick. Finding myself dissatisfied with regular-size picks, I opted to try out these ones... WOW! I love the size, and I love the sharper point. My only disappointment is that I found out rather quickly I needed to move up a gauge to avoid snapping the point off--if you're switching from standard picks to these and dig into the strings like I do, order the next size up.
