OVERVIEW

Ultralight with memory lock, flush-base aluminum legs, and convertible boom assembly.

The DW 6700 Flush Base Boom Symbal Stand was created for students, weekend drummers and working pros. The 6700 stand's performance upgrades and enhanced adjustability bring modern technology and manufacturing methods to a classic drum hardware design. The vintage-style flush-base leg assembly and smaller diameter tubing of the 6700 stand provides a practical stand that is significantly lighter without sacrificing quality or performance.

Comments about DW 6700 Flush Base Boom Cymbal Stand:

I play professionally in a Christian Jazz Trio and with church worship bands and the CMA praise band. I bought both these and the straight models stands for their light weight and compactness to replace a mix of DW 3000, 5000 and 9000 stands that were just too bulky and heavy to lug around. These stands work perfectly for the style of music that I play and they complement the looks of my DW Performance Jazz/Bop kit. Initially I was a little concerned about the flat base stands as I had Gretsch flat stands back in the day and they were always wobbly or falling over, but DW as usual has reengineered these to have a classic look while at the same time being strong and steady. However, a note of caution these are for the musician that plays with control and finesse they aren't designed for big heavy cymbals and a heavy hand.

They are for the musician that plays with control and finesse.

Comments about DW 6700 Flush Base Boom Cymbal Stand:

DW equipment at a low cost. Light weight design that promises stability for the traveling musician or anyone who just likes their set to look good(like me). They finally did it better than "the way they used to do it."

Comments about DW 6700 Flush Base Boom Cymbal Stand:

This stand makes me wonder why I lugged DW 9000-series hardware to gigs for all those years. I love the vintage look and, turns out, as long as I don't stretch the boom arm all the way to its maximum horizontal reach, there's no noticeable difference in the stability of this stand (to the player). If you drum around guitar-smashers and barnyard animals, you might want to go with something heavier.

I have a similar Gibraltar flush-base stand which seems of comparable quality, but quietly shed some rather important parts that now need to be replaced (which I don't see happening to the DW stand). I can (and do) put my cherished Constantinople ride on the DW 6700, which pretty much says it all.

Comments about DW 6700 Flush Base Boom Cymbal Stand:

I recently purchased this stand as well as the ultralite straight stand model. Both are lightweight yet pretty sturdy. I wouldn't use them if I was bashing out metal or punk rock tunes but for my styles of playing blues, jazz, funk, etc. these hold up just fine. Only drawback that I can think of is the cymbal felts on the boom stand are a tad bit stiff. I think it's just because I am used to softer ones on my other stands. Overall, I would recommend these stands to most drummers. The boom holds my 20" and 21" ride cymbals just fine. I play vintage kits and these accentuate the classic look as well.
