Some have said that the stand is too heavy. This is the exact reason that I chose this stand. But when I opened the box I was surprised when it really wasn't that heavy. Don't get me wrong it is heavy... Just not as heavy as I thought it would be based on other reviews. It weighs less than most snare drums. It is a very strong stand with unlimited options for positioning. My snare weighs about 20lb and does not wobble with the boom extended all the way. Call me crazy but I think my snare actually sounds better with this stand. My last stand would bounce a little when I struck the snare but this stand stays still allowing all the energy from my sticks to to be focused into the snare rather than the stand. This will be my stand for life. It's going to be hard to find an upgrade to this stand.

There are at least two other users on here who had my exact problem as me. The bolt-hole at the base of the basket, which you use to adjust the pitch of the snare, is smooth. The threads have been stripped out after breaking-down and setting-up this stand for 120 shows, approximately. I specifically bought this stand so this wouldn't happen, and ironically, this stand had the shortest life of all stands I've used.
It gives you false confidence that it is durable. I like it's looks.
While the overall stand is durable, the metal they used for threading is not.

I have been playing drums for 59 years and I am still playing 6 nights a week. This stand is sturdy as can be.I extended the arm out all the way and brought the feet in to a smaller foot print and the snare is stable in any location I tried. This has given me so much more room for me and the double bass pedal and the hi hat.I have never had a perfect feeling setup until now. This stand is well worth the money and is sturdy and well built.

Excfellent Stand and can angle the drum in any way..but the platic adjuster gets stripped and the adjuster handle falls off. i've fixed it many times with the same broken results.. now using a pair of pliers to loosen it.. will hope they upgrade this item or will be forced to buy another brand. very disappointing esp comin from DW.. was really suprised..

Comments about DW 9300 Heavy Duty Snare Drum Stand:

I have a 5 year old 9300 and love it, so much so I recently purchased a second one for my travel kit but had to return it. On the new one basket alignment is such that the rubber pads on the claw ends bang up against the side of my knees. My old one was aligned where one claw faced towards me with the other two towards the toms. This eliminated interference with the knees. In order to use the new stand I have to play bow legged. Additionally, out of the box, the memory locks were installed backwards, which I had to correct. Not a big deal, but something you should not have to do with a top of the line stand. So, definitely some manufacturing oversight and I am puzzled as to why DW would alter the basket alignment in such a way. Did they test it with drummers before hand? Puzzling. If the basket was properly aligned I'd rate it a 5 but given it is unusable, at least for me, a solid 1.

Comments about DW 9300 Heavy Duty Snare Drum Stand:

It all works great, many people seem to have problems but of setting up many times, I never had it fail or come lose. I only fold up the legs and take off the basket, the removable basket is very useful. Can easily change to a back up snare between shows if necessary.

Best, most versatile stand you can buy

    By bleedrums

Comments about DW 9300 Heavy Duty Snare Drum Stand:

I own two 9300's and have been using the 9300 since my first DW kit purchase in 2001. It has withstood the rigors of many gigs over the years without a single issue. It's sturdy, and infinitely adjustable so I can fine tune the drum position exactly where I need it, no other snare stand can do that. Other drummers I tech for love the 9300 for all the same reasons. If you need to accommodate a smaller snare opt for the 9303 which is specifically designed for auxiliary snares and smaller drums. If you have issues with a DW product like another reviewer here, contact their customer service, they are great folks and will bend over backwards to assist you with their products.

    only one drawback

    By drewbones

    from virginia

Comments about DW 9300 Heavy Duty Snare Drum Stand:

This is by far the greatest snare stand I own. I have three (the other two are tama rock stands) and this one blows the other two away. The precision in placement of your snare drum alone makes this an amazing snare stand. The only drawback is that it won't hold anything smaller than a 13 inch snare. So if your looking to hold a practice pad, or a 12 inch tom or smaller this won't work.
