OVERVIEW

Steel on the inside, space-age polymer on the outside!

Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Crafted to last, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a warm, robust tone that sounds "played-in" right out of the pack while still retaining a remarkably clear mid-range presence. The POLYWEB Coating brings a soft, slick, and fast feel to the playing experience.

For a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel, try Elixir's ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit, especially if you’re also looking for a crisper, brighter, and more vibrant tone. For strings that strike a dynamic balance between full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity, our Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings deliver exactly that alongside our NANOWEB Coating’s more traditional feel.

I recently purchased a new Martin DCPA3 and I loved the tone. When it came time to change the strings I got a set of PolyWebs out of my other guitar case and slapped them on. The PolyWebs are soooo much better. That squeeky treble and funky high mid ring is gone. The Martin came new with Life Spans on it and sounded great but these Polys made my Martin sound more vintage and seasoned even though It's a brand new guitar. These PolyWeb strings dont have the high end treble of the LifeSpans but the mid is a lot smoother and the bottom is bigger but not dead or boomy. They give my guitar a sweet and perfectly Balanced tone over all playing styles where really bright strings are only good in 1 style. Overall the Balance of the PolyWeb is super nice and the string squeeks are gone which is good in the studio. Plus they last 3 times as long as other strings so dont worry about the higher cost because its like buying 3 sets for 1. Get a set and play them for a while and you'll be hooked. They are that great. Also I recomend the Poly over the Nano hands down so dont even waist your time, PolyWeb all the way.

I tried Elixir strings several years ago and literally cut them off my D35 Martin they sounded so bad. Recently playing a friends D35 Martin, I noticed how warm the phosphor bronze strings sounded. They had just the right mix of clarity and softness making it easy to harmonize vocals with the music. Unlike the tinny sound of most phosphor bronze strings used for volume in Bluegrass, these offered warmth that did not override the vocals. I checked the setup and found it identical to my own. She told me they were medium, Phosphor Bronze, Nanoweb, Elixir strings. I decided to try them again and this time they worked. I may have put Polyweb 80/20 Bronze strings on the first time but it is for sure these are not that first set I tried. The sound is rich and so far so good. I gave them three stars because, until I play them a while, I will not be able to really give an accurate account of their longevity in operation or sustaining tone. After using them for a while, I will update my evaluation of them.
