Thunderbird Hardshell Case....not many options around.

Features:

The case has a huge inner storage compartment which is very convenient...big enough for a 20' cable and straps. The interior fabric is long-fur plush. Guitar is very well protected in the cutout shape. The only thing I didn't see was a velcro tie strap around the neck, but it sits pretty compressed in the fur so it doesn't move much.

Quality:

The exterior hinges and locks are pretty cheapo. I've heard that others have busted them but I can't envision the problem as I don't throw the case around.

Value:

This case should be $50...not closer to $100 for what it is.

Overall:

As there are very few bass cases that will hold the unusually shaped and long Epi Thunderbird bass, this is better than a cardboard box ;-)

BUT if you want a more protective case, I'd recommend the Reunion Blues Bass case.....a pricey (expect $200 range) but near indestructible, lots of pockets, shoulder straps, and hard to tear or ding.  Don't think of it as a gig-bag....its top stuff.

Features:

It's a great case, well-built and very attractive.

Quality:

The quality is very good, much better than the musicians gear cases with better materials, hardware and of course a custom fit.

Value:

For the price of a crap case, you get a good one instead and it fits your epi.

Overall:

No brainer for the T-bird owner.

This is a MUST HAVE case to protect your instrument.

Features:

This case is very high quality and fits the Thunderbird bass like a glove. The T-Bird is comletely imobilized. I also lIke that it has EPIPHONE stenciled on the lid rather than the epiphone graphic symbol used on the previous ones.   This case is longer than a standard bass case thus the T-Bird will only fit in this case.

Quality:

The lid is the only semi flexible part of this item.  Very GOOD construction.

Value:

The price is well worth it. Invest in protectiong your instrument.

Overall:

It gets a 9 ONLY because it is not indestructable like those travel suitcases we saws in commercials in the 1970's that were dropped from airplanes and allowed to hit the ground.  I also saw a gorilla jumping on top of one!

I got this case to replace the well used original one that came with my 1963 Gibson Thunderbird IV bass.  The overall quality, the interior fit, the usefulness of the storage compartment, and the overall balance (with the base inside) appears much better than the original.  Even with Epiphone logo on the outside, I'm impressed at the utility and style.
