2002 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings

By Casey Williams

from Central, CA

Comments about Ernie Ball 2002 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

If you want great sounding strings, buy the 2002 Earthwood strings.
These strings sound great on my 310ce Taylor.
Whether unplugged or plugged in they sound great!
For not having a coating these strings hang around for awhile.
Great sound at a great price!

I search for the perfect strings...

Comments about Ernie Ball 2002 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I like a bright guitar, and these were just too dark in tone on my Tacoma JR55 Guild-sized jumbo six strintg with rosewood back and sides. (this all contributes to a dark tone to begin with...). Maybe the light gauge strings would have been a winner, but I was sufficiently unhappy with these that I cut them off within hours, and replaced them with D'Addario EXP 80/20 bronze light gauge strings. I was amazed at the difference, and loved the tone with the EXP's. The trouble is, the D'Addario strings just don't last that long. You get about a month of good tone, and then the bass starts to get muddy. These Ernie Ball strings sounded kind of muddy in the bass, right from the beginning. If you have a bright guitar, maybe they will be a winner for you. Also, for brightness, you might consider buying the light gauge instead of the mediums.

I'm a slammer who breaks alot of strings, I've tried many many different brands, Earthwood are the most durable breakage resistant strings I've found.

I bought my first set of Earthwood strings at a local music store, and I'm glad I did. They are the best strings I've ever used.
