First: Understand that you may be giving up a little volume putting these on a guitar other than that they are insane (in a good way)I have them on 3 acoustics currently: An alvarez, a deep bowl ovation, and a Gianinni from the late 60's, they sound good on every guitar. They are a bit quiet but for most situations it has little negative effect. The real benefit to these strings is the ability to get electric style bends on your acoustic without having to use finger steroids. I love the sound, and the feel. I remember a kid I used to play with threw electric strings on his acoustic out of curiosity a few years back and loved the feel and hated the tone, this is the solution. They don't give you the overtones perhaps or classic sound of a 12 or 13 but they come close and at a playability that is ridiculous.Try them

I bought these strings for my Ibanez PF Electric Acoustic. Based on the reviews, I expected greatness. Maybe I got a bad set. I must say that the overall tone of these strings is outstanding -- definitely very rock & blues. They are also very durable. I beat on them pretty good, and never had one break. But I had serious problems with the G-string. Once it was in tune, the fingered notes were out of tune. I thought I would like the unwound, smaller gauge of the G, but I decided I don't. I thought maybe my guitar was the problem, but the adjustments I made did nothing to help. I became so frustrated with the G-string, that I finally just ordered some different strings. I put on a set of D'Addario Flat Tops, and I will never go back.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2008 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Rock and Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I've been an Ernie Ball player for a while. I'm mostly a bass and electric guitar player, so when I bought a used epiphone acoustic, I bought a set of these to go with it. One thing I like about them is that they give the guitar more bottom end, which is especially important if you play an acoustic-electric. Most amps, and even some PA systems, give these guitars too thin and tinny a sound, it sounds more jangly. That's not what you want, especially since you are usually playing rhythm. You could buy a Martin or Taylor for a thousand, spend a hundred on an equalizer pedal, or you could drop a saw buck for two sets, and improve your tone 100% in the time it takes to restring.
One issue, though. I have a new guitar, and since putting them one, it is starting to show signs of bridge lift. If you have an older guitar, or one of questionable quality, you might want to pass on these. You will also want to steer clear if your guitar doesn't have a truss rod. They use heavy gauge strings for the low E A and D, and it might cause issues. This is the only reason I didn't give them five stars, because it could ruin someone's guitar (mine was cheap anyway and bridge lift is a relatively easy fix)

Comments about Ernie Ball 2008 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Rock and Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These are freakin awesome strings. I use them on most all my acoustics. I play alot of bluesy funky stuff and these kick (insert the word of your choice here - appearently the word I think that belongs here is far to harsh for the nannies at MF). Super tone, clean and clear. They dont stretch out and keep their tune.
Love'em

I replaced stock strings on a new guitar to give these a try. i have never been so disappointed with guitar strings. if are looking for garbage strings then i recommend these, otherwise stay as far away from them as possible. if by some odd chance your given a set of these, throw them in the trash where they belong.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2008 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Rock and Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:
As a lead player I have been looking for strings that are light enough to bend and are heavy enough to maintain that great accoustic sound. IMHO these strings do the job. I've had these on all of my accoustics now and would never go with anything else.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2008 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Rock and Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I swear by EB strings for my electric but I wasted my money buying a two pack of these strings. The have the same EB feel (light and easy to work with) but they sound like crap.I also had the same problem with my G string not ever sounding right. When I first heard the strings after my first tuning I thought I screwed something up. I thought maybe I tuned my G an octave too low. But after double checking everything was wound and tuned properly. Can't wait to get rid of these things. Makes me not even want to play my acoustic.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2008 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Rock and Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:
Like the other reviews they do decrease your volume, but that doesn't matter. They give a warm tone and they play fantastic. It gives my '79 Sigma DR-28 a beautiful resonance. They bend perfect.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2008 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Rock and Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I re-discovered these strings years ago now. They are some of the easiest playing and best sounding strings out there IMHO. They have a warm crisp tone with lots of sweet overtones. Because of the gauge these strings aren't the best for those of you who are hard strumers. I use these strings on an Alvarez Yari and led a Church band for quite a while. They performed flawlessly and I never had a problem with broken strings. If you string up your guitar and stretch the strings properly they settle in quickly and stay in tune. Great sounding strings in my book!
