Comments about Ernie Ball 2067 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Mandolin Light Strings:

My wife got the bug to learn mandolin and being the resident guitarist, I had to help her setup and learn to run a fretted instrument. The D'Addarios that came on it were much heavier (12s?), and while I can play acoustic guitar easily, those strings hurt my hands. Hard to imagine a beginner using them.

These are much easier on the fingers, and feel more like the high four strings on a guitar. Bright tone and great dynamics - the Kentucky is like a completely different instrument with these on it.

No problems at all with them so far. Yeah, that's a 9 on the high strings, so don't bang on it like you want the back row in the LA Coliseum to hear you without an amplifier.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2067 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Mandolin Light Strings:

I find all Ernie Ball Earthwood strings to have a rich bronze-y sound, and I use them on a lot of my acoustic instruments. All strings are affected by the way you hit them when you play as well as your personal body chemistry, how you take care of them, and how old they get. YOU know what sound you like, all I can say is these strings make my el cheapo f-style mando sound like a lot better instrument than it is.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2067 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Mandolin Light Strings:

Much easier on the fingers and hands and the mandolin. Even with VERY low action There is no buzzing on the frets if frets are level and set up is right on. I've used other #9 mando strings and had problems with breakage but I've loosened and tightened these at least 4-5 times during set up with no breakage. Once stretched in they stay in tune normally.

              Wow!! Amazing strings!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2067 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Mandolin Light Strings:

I put these strings on my old Rogue RM-100A mando, and boy, was I blown away! I had been using some medium heavy D'Addarios (I think), and the sound was muffled, not to mention the string tension making it really hard to play, but after I switched to these, it sounded like a million bucks, and played like a dream too! Folks, especially if you own the aforementioned Rogue mando, before you smash it against a wall (as I occasionally contemplated doing), try these strings! They're amazing, and at the price you can't go wrong.
