Unlike other brands, they have maintained very high quality, while delivering a range of custom gage strings in the ranges that fit most playing styles..
I have been using the Regular Slinky 2240 Ernie Ball strings on my Stratocaster guitars, as well as the (Pink) .009 Super Slinkys on my Les Pauls, and I have really noticed the longer life of my strings when I am using Ernie Ball, as compared to the other brands.
These strings tend to stay brighter, punchier, and they tune up to 'stable pitch' much faster than the others that I tried, which is important in a band setting. (think... no more constant re-tuning after a string change)
I have tried many other brands looking for better sound and tuning stability, but I always come back to Ernie Ball -
For stable tuning, whether using a floyd trem, or a fixed Gibson Tune-o-matic bridge, they are unmatched performance.
Highly recommended!
The termination of the string at the ball is tightly wound, and reliable. Most important for a fixed bridge guitar..
Most sets are priced around the same.. but I get significantly longer life from the Slinky line in Ernie Ball strings

you hear a difference alright...but you really wish you didn't have to. i was using d'addario strings exclusively up to this point, when a friend recommended the ernie ball strings. i went from a heavy, sharp, rich sound to a horribly light and flaky almost country like atrocity. my advice to anyone serious about their music is to bypass these strings...use your money for something with some actual tone, something that sounds good

Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
I'll keep it short. I've used these strings since 1986, and have tried EVERYTHING else, including Ernie Ball's new Cobalt strings. These strings just sound the best and last the longest. They make my Gibsons sound like GIBSONS..the tone I grew up listening to. The reinforced ends REALLY allow the string to stand up to allot of abuse, rarely breaking. They were primarily designed for guitars equipped with tremolo bridges, but I use them with great success on straight bridged guitars.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
If you like tens go to Ghs boomers. They're better.
They sound just like the regular slinkys. Take a week to sound good and last longer which is good but i like the Rps 9's much more. They sound and feel different.
They last long
Fairly priced.

if you have a stop tail peice style guitar and need strings that eliminate the slipping around the ball end, these are the ones.
Great strings, overall good tone, stays in tune well. I was having tuning issues with a les paul. Not anymore, these strings eliminate string slipping at the ball end. They stay in tune better than any strings I have used on the guitar. That adds to the overal sound of the strings, which is as good as any other stings out there.
excellent no issues at all.
these are not overpriced, but somewhat more expensive than the bargin sets. They are worth the extra buck or two a set.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
i say that because i like the tone i get from DR strings better. BUT these strings are great, and you won't have to change as often since they are reinforced and will last longer. I use these for practicing and doodle-ing at home or playing at the church band. but when i really want the best tone i go to DR. these are indeed great for distorted tones, sustain is great and it is on the brighter side. very smooth feel and great for fast playing..
Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
I was in an emergency yesterday, I broke 2 strings at rehearsal and had to get new strings before the show, and I decided to buy these and string them up, and my immediate reaction was Wow. I've used Ernie Ball before I disliked other products because of breakage, however these strings are great. Its easy to solo with them, They produce a great distortion tone which holds up whether you play in standard or lower. The clean tone is a little bright for my tastes but for what they're worth I'm definitely going to string up all my Studio guitars with these
Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
I have been playing guitar for just short of 29 years now and was a former D'Addario customer until my new Music Man guitar came with these on it 4 years ago. I now use them on ALL of my electric guitars. I perform out live on a regular basis (including an upcoming tour) and do studio work and these strings always perform admireably! The tone I get from these strings is rich, full, clear, and vibrant! I get MANY compliments on my tone too. The best part is that I no longer have to waste time soldering the bottoms of the E, B, and G strings so that the windings don't slip. Amazing strings from an amazing company!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS 10 Electric Guitar Strings:
I started using these strings about 6 months ago when I satred a band and we started to adopt the drop-D tuning style and these strings, by far, we're the best choice for that tuning. They give off a sweet, distinct clean tone and give an aggressive distorted scream. Definitely give these babies a try if you're into metal and music of the sort.
