Stronger so they last longer.

Gauges 11-14-18p-28-38-48.

Ernie Ball RPS electric guitar strings are reinforced versions of the standard Slinky. A patented winding of bronze wire is tightly wrapped around the lock twist of the ball end. String slippage and breakage are minimized at the ball end where these most often occur. RPS strings last longer and stay in tune better than conventional plain strings. Used on electric and acoustic guitars but, not classical guitars.

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.

Ernie Ball is the pioneer of rock and roll guitar strings. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, and Slash are among the long list of Slinky players.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2242 Power Slinky RPS 11 Electric Guitar Strings:

Wanted to try something different after using GHS Boomers for awhile. These Ernie Ball strings have a more mellow, blusey sound. Happy with my selection for now. I am not a banger, so string breakage is never a problem.

      The Best i have used!!!!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2242 Power Slinky RPS 11 Electric Guitar Strings:

Well I have been an Ernie Ball user ever since I have held a guitar and I usually rock with the Ernie Ball 9-42 Super Slinky set. Now that its been 3 years since I have played the guitar, it was time for me to out grow the SS and switch to higher gauges. When I tried these strings, they just blew my mind! I have tried other strings GHS (friend's), D'Addario(Music store's guitar for testing), and some generics(when I am Broke)... Nothing compares to this! Best Value For Your Hard Earned Money!

      Why try anything else?

Comments about Ernie Ball 2242 Power Slinky RPS 11 Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are the absolute best strings I have ever used. I've tried the others, nothing compares. It's just an opinion. But I put these strings on my guitar in february 2005... and still to this very moment, they sound brand new, never had a broken string, never get dull. It seems like the more you play on them, the better they sound. definately reccommend them!!!

      Best Strings Ever

      By Zardokk

      from Indiana

Comments about Ernie Ball 2242 Power Slinky RPS 11 Electric Guitar Strings:

I've tried many kinds of strings. I've used stock guitar strings, miscellaneous Ernie Balls and other big brands, store brands, pretty much a little of everything. For close to a year I had settled on Dean Markley strings because they worked well for my sound and were damn near unbreakable. I decided to give these strings a try and see how they stacked up to Dean Markleys. As soon as I put these things on my guitar, I heard a BIG difference. These strings sound so much more alive than my Dean Markleys. They have an amazing tone, are terrific to play, and seem unbreakable. I've trashed on these things nonstop for over a month and they're holding up very nicely. Definitely buy these. You won't regret it.

The best strings on the planet...Period.

      By Tapmaster

      from Lakeworth, FL

Comments about Ernie Ball 2242 Power Slinky RPS 11 Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are THE best strings I have ever used EVER!!! I used to use Regular Ernie Ball Power Slinky and I loved them but after two weeks the strings don't sound new, and the top three strings start to lose their shine... In about a month they're old and rusty and you feel like changing them again. Elixir remain shiny for a long time but I don't like the tone, D' Addario's break too damn easy, Ball's are pretty much the best I've used but the shine dies and I hate that. Then I found out the tone can remain the same with extra strength and they last a lot longer, that's when I saw an ad for Ernie Ball RPS Reinforced Slinky it had Slash on it and it said "Play hard Slash, they're reinforced!" I then went online to see if these strings are what they say they are, and then I read how great these strings are and they keep their shine for a long time and then I was like " That's it these are MY strings!" I bought them and I've been using them ever since though I do like the packaging of the standard slinkys, tonewise and smoothwise, these are better.
