7 string essentials
These are solid no nonsense strings. They sound bright for about 2 weeks of steady playing, then you'll start noticing the decay of tone and that's about normal for a a non-coated string.

The .11'sare a bit tight in standard tuning but work out perfect of dropping down. I'd recomend the .10's for standard/drop A.
I haven't had a problem with the strings breaking even with constantly switching tunings; they're pretty durable.
If you're gonna go with a pre-packaged 7 string set this is the way to go.

I will say this about these strings. For downtuning to Drop Ab, A, Bb, B, and A-B standard these strings do their job well. They sound and play like every other EB set, they're just thicker!
I bought these strings a couple months back to put on my 6-er (an Ibanez RG) because I wanted to downtune to Korn's signature tuning (A standard). They work well for that tuning, but that's about as low as you'll get without having too little tension. A lot of the time I played in Drop Ab for some of Periphery's music. For that tuning it is just barely tight enough for my preferences, but if you want some tension in your strings I would reccomend going heavier (The DR DDT strings work excellent for a 6 string).
The quality of these strings is pretty decent, they're not the smoothest feeling strings or the longest lasting but they lasted me a good 2 and a half months until I finall ybroke the 6th string. A few days ago I broke the 5th string as well, so now I've ordered a set of the afforementioned DR strings.
They're the same price as the DR equivalents that I use, so the price isn't a deal-breaker. 7 bucks every month or two isn't that bad;)

about a year ago, i decided to tune my les paul to Bb and keep it there. the only issue was what strings do i buy? i messed around with baritones, no luck. i tried DRs, give me a break. so i decided to swallow my pride and ask for a seven string set of EB's at the counter, feeling like i should be in a korn cover band. (ugh) anyway, these strings are without a doubt the best for my sound and playing style. with the guitar and rig (an Orange full-i'm a tone freak, forgive me.)i have i wanted the best i could get to have the absolute best tone i could push out. EB did it, and until i find another string, i'm sticking with them.

I was playing EB Super slinkys and my band decided to drop tunings. they jus wouldnt hold the A. so i was researching and found these. decided to buy some and was very pleased with what i got. i threw them on my ESP h-207 and they work perfect in A! we even went down to G# and they still sound good. a little loose but it still kills!
Comments about Ernie Ball 2620 Nickel 7-String Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
These strings are the longest lasting strings I've ever used. I use these strings on my 6 string ibanez RG2EX1 and omit the .38 string. I tune my guitar to C# with a dropped B. B F# B E G# C#And before I stumbled upon these string, I had tried an absurd amount of different sets by a ridiculous number of different companies. It's awesome not to be changin my string every 3 days because they're either breaking (DR) , wearing out way too fast (D'addario, Dunlop, and GHS), or just plain suck (BLUE STEEL). Also. Ernie Ball Strings sound AMAZING with EMG active pickups and with that huge .58 low E (or for the seven stringer, low B) The crunch and the tight botom end is AMAZING! I could NEVER EVER get that nice of a sound out of any string ever. These will be my go-to string. No matter what gauge I want for all of my guitars.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2620 Nickel 7-String Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
I've been using these for years and i gotta say they're as consistent as any of the more expensive brands i've tried. I put a set on, play them at practice, at shows, in the studio, and they last for months (guess i'm just not a sweaty-handed guy). I've probably gone through 4 sets in the last year and never broke a string. And yes, i do bend them...i play progressive metal and they get a beating, believe me. I used to switch between these and D'addario's, but these are cheaper, and seem to sound brighter, longer. Also, D'addario changed the gauge of one or two of the strings in their heaviest 7-string set..as long as EB doesn't do something dumb like that, i'm stickin with these.

I've been using these for several months for detuning experimentation. Even with frequent tuning changes, these things have not shown any signs of damage. I expect them to last for a good amount of time.No complaints about the tone, either. It gets the job done.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2620 Nickel 7-String Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:
Of all the strings I've tried, I think these strings are probably the best. I've tried elixirs and D'addario. these had the best tone and longest life. I tune my Ibanez K7 1 full step down and they still sound good. I used to play with 13s but I tried these out and were much better. enjoy.
