More range, better harmonic response, thanks to the power of cobalt.

Part of the Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky Guitar Strings Series, the 2728 Cobalt 7-String Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings are engineered to maximize output and clarity, and are the latest innovation in string technology. Seeking to provide guitarists and bassists with a new voice, Cobalt strings provide an extended dynamic range, incredible harmonic response, increased low end, and crisp, clear highs. Cobalt provides a stronger magnetic relationship between pickups and strings than any other alloy previously available. Cobalt Slinkys are also soft and silky to the touch, making string bending a breeze.

Add some new zing with some fresh strings.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2728 Cobalt 7-String Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I had been using regular nickel 7-string sets for a while on my Ibanez RG927. After restringing with these Cobalts, my tone immediately felt thin and sissy through a Mesa Single Rec half stack with a GSP1101 in 4CM. So I went and messed with my rig - changed the compressor model settings, changed the dirt pedal model settings, messed with the amp tone stack and messed with the post EQ… now this amp screams like never before! More balls than ever. I am digging it. The clarity is better, but not as much as I was hoping for. Maybe I can get that if I mess with my settings some more, but I'll try it out at band practice before I change anything else.

The strings are a normal set of 10s with a 56 for the low B, but the wound strings feel a little loose when they're tuned to pitch. If I were in Bb or A, these strings would be WAY too loose. They sound good but I need a heavier gauge.
