Comments about Ernie Ball 2730 Cobalt 7-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I needed Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings. The item description on Musician's Friend web site described it this way. When it arrived, I found out the description was wrong, this item is not skinny top heavy bottom. I don't have time to mail it back, I'll take the hit, but I'm upset.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2730 Cobalt 7-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I play standard tuning with a low A (AEADGBe) on a standard 25.5" scale length guitar, and while I'll admit these are just barely on the warm side for my taste, the tension is perfect on every string. The top is still perfectly shredable, while the bottom is perfectly tight and responsive. Definitely the nicest string pack for a 25.5" 7-string guitar.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2730 Cobalt 7-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I put these on my dean ml modifier with a 25.5 inch scale in drop b. nice and tight with a little more output than normal strings. I actually had to lower the bridge pickup to not be so harsh. they feel a little weird at first, but after a couple hours of playing they soften up. the 62 feels like a 65. I used to use extra heavy dadarrio with a 65 but these work great in drop b. try em out!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2730 Cobalt 7-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I'm new to the cobalt string world, but after listening to the product demos and doing some research, I picked up a set to re-string my Ibanez Universe. Once I plugged the guitar in, it came alive! The cleans are crisp and bright with a lot of response and depth. Kicking on the distortion, the attacks are loud and the tone is clear. I could not be happier with these strings, especially in Drop A tuning. Do not wait, get these strings and start really rocking out.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2730 Cobalt 7-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

After adopting the 7 string guitar, I had a hybrid set I used for a long time with the 6 string ST/HB pack and a .65 bass string for the top and I loved it. Once the cobalts came out, I tried them and really enjoyed them. After I got my Music Man, these were available and I snagged a set. I've been playing in Drop G with the 62 and it holds up well, a little too loose for my taste. I'm usually a half step up to G# and that is extremely stable and crisp. They sound amazing through the piezo as well and they last longer than my other sets although I have switched all my guitars over to the cobalts.

I definitely recommend giving them a shot! It's a perfect set for me and what I'm looking to accomplish with my tone.
